Halia (or ‘ginger’ in the Malay language) began in the one-hectare Ginger Garden of the Singapore Botanic Gardens where over 250 species of gingers with their stunning foliage and colourful flowers thrive. In 2008, the Halia was officially opened in Hanoi. This is Halia’s first overseas outlet. In keeping with The Halia’s philosophy of creating memorable experiences through food, ambience and service, The Halia Hanoi focuses on the integral purpose of dining ~ pure pleasure. With that commitment in mind, The Halia brings to Hanoians a dining experience not found anywhere else in the capital. An intimate bar greets you upon entry where you can have a tipple or two before adjourning to the main dining room. Located just beside the scenic West Lake, the wide windows provides a majestic view of the water. Tuck into hearty and comforting signatures while being tended to by our warm and friendly servers. As you end your evening at the Halia, savour a night cap in our exclusive whisky den on the upper floor.

Very good experience

My friends and i spent a very good time in this restaurant. Some ordered western food, some asian food and we were all very happy with our food. The decoration is nice and we enjoyed eating in a place with air-con.

A delightful restaurant at the by West Lake. Very cosy ambience and our dining experience was made more memorable by the attentive waiting staff, Truong and Nga. The food was mind blowingly delicious. The shrimp satay salad, chilli crab spaghetti and paper wrapped fish were absolutely delightful. Being Singaporean and having a certain expectation of how chilli crab will taste... More

Went to Halia for we couldn't quite decide between western and Asian food, and we found a great combination of both available at Halia! The chilli crab spaghetti takes all the messiness out of the usual chilli crab experience, without losing the unique sweet spicy and tangy taste of a decent chilli crab. I loved the salads and the bruschetta.... More

Earlier today we had our sumptous lunch at Halia. First off, I am so thankful for the staff for being flexible and accomodating. I have booked for dinner and twice I rescheduled it. Then last minute, we decided to just eat there at lunch time. Ms Viet was so nice, she immediately gave us a seat. We were assisted also... More

We just had an amazing experience this weekend! First of all, I had been to Halia before and the restaurant itself is always lovely and the food has always been outstanding. Therefore, when I needed to plan a dinner party for 29 people, it seemed like a logical place to start as they have different sized dinning rooms. During my... More

This restaurant is famous in Singapore, this time my visit to Hanoi, I would like to try! The restaurant is located close to my hotel, Intercontinental Hanoi, around ten minutes walk, not far away! I am the first guest, actually only two tables in the lunch hour, very comfortable! I ordered two courses with soup and beef as the main... More

My husband and I are staying at the Intercontinental, Westlake, just a few minutes walk from this charming restaurant. Although it was very quiet (post-yet), we were given a warm welcome, and a complimentary cocktail on arrival, with charming service from the host and waitress. We had seen the menu beforehand, so knew we wanted to share the whole chicken,... More

Originally went with a co-worker to have a couple beers with dinner, and kinda stumbled on this classy joint. First impression wasn't great. We both wanted a Sapporo beer, and because Tet has just recently happened, they were out of our choice beer, as well as a couple other items. I was keen to try the whole roasted baby pumpkin...
