Bun bo Nam Bo is marinating the beef, then comes making 'nuoc cham' and the pickled vegetables (shredded carrot and papaya). The pickled vegies is crispy, a little sour and a little sweet, which even makes me eat two bowls of the noodle at once. Remember to pickle the carrot (and papaya first, before marinating the beef) since it takes at least 1 hour to get a good flavor on the carrot.

This place is named after the one dish it serves: Bun Bo Nam Bo. You go in, sit down at the long silver table and just tell them how many and it'll come to your table shortly. Sooo good!! And they post the price on the wall, so you know locals and foreigners are all paying the same price :)

This place rocks in terms of the food they serve. the service is great - some of the waitresses wanted to sit down on practice their English and we tried the same in Vietnamse but soon worked out we were not that good at it . The place is cool as you know what you are getting each time -... More

When talking about a restaurant, I see a nice bulding, elegant tabels, waiters, a booklet with dishes, wines. None of these are present in this restaurant but you don't miss any of them. It is like the kitchen in the army, basic tables, rather banks and you sit where you find a place, perhaps vis-a-vis with people you never met.... More

This place only does one main dish- bun bo nam bo. This consists of rice noodles, beef, beef broth bean sprouts and crispy fried onions. The dish is excellent and very cheap (55k dong) and the staff are very efficient.

I had a greag noodle dish here. Rice noodles in little sweet beef broth topped up with been sprouts, nuts and some fried onions. Really tasty! Cost: 60.000 vnd I asked for a beer to go with that. didn't even have to pay for it. The setting is very simple. The preparation of the food looks very hygienic, but the... More

This was our first meal in Hanoi and it did not disappoint! The quality of the food is excellent. It's a simple menu so just tell them the number of bun bo bowls you want and take a seat. There are a lot of foreigners that come here so don't worry if you can't speak Vietnamese; most of the people... More

We visited this restaurant on 12 Feb 2015. Very cheap and fast. One bowl of noodle was only 55 thousand. It is basically rice noodle with beef, a lot of tasty vege, and topping with peanuts. Simple combination and yummy. It is spacious, but atmosphere wasn't great, the floor was wet and some debris kept under the tables. But this... More
