Bun bo Nam Bo is marinating the beef, then comes making 'nuoc cham' and the pickled vegetables (shredded carrot and papaya). The pickled vegies is crispy, a little sour and a little sweet, which even makes me eat two bowls of the noodle at once. Remember to pickle the carrot (and papaya first, before marinating the beef) since it takes at least 1 hour to get a good flavor on the carrot.

Bun Bo Hue? Or Bun Bo Hanoi?

I usually do not frequent commercial style restaurants in Vietnam. But when you are on a tour trip you take what is scheduled. There are a lot of very good, ma and pa cafes all over Vietnam that offer excellent cuisine, (home cooked meals), and my wife is very partial to Bun Bo Hue. My favorites... read more

Located in a small shop in the old quarter, fish sauce, beef, vegetables, made a traditional dish in Hanoi. The ingredients are very fresh and the taste is really good. Good for a fast meal around.

Definitely overrated. Taste well balanced but that's all. Just normal, nothing special and price was bit expensive compare with another local place. And what's more I found a worm in my noodle soup when I nearly finish my dish.

It's simple. Don't miss this spot. Delicious Bun Bo Nam Bo. Make sure you go to correct store 67. There's other stores on the street with the same name.

First night we went to the Bun Bo Nam Bo for Bun Bo Nam Bo. Crowded but we got seats on a large table with other. We had a beer and the Bun Bo which was pretty good, quite delicate flavours. A good start to our food trip we mistakenly thought. It was all down hill after the Bun Bo... More

We visited this place as our host had originally wanted us to visit the banana fritter woman around the corner but she had gone home early that day, I'm glad she did. This place where we ate the first item on the menu provided for me the best food we had outside of a Vietnamese home. The dish was excellent,... More

This is a small shop in the old quarter. Nothing fancy but gives you a great taste of the traditional way of sharing a meal in Vietnam. They serve only one type of dish, bun bo, it was so yummy ! The family were happy to serve and friendly

Best food we had in Vietnam! We were there twice. They have only one main dish, a beef noodle salad (also available without meat), actually from southern vietnam, and a kind of sausage in banana leef as a side dish. Many locals go there. Don't miss it!!!

This place is delicious. They only serve one dish "bun bo", a melody of noodles, beef, fish sauce, cheese, and lettuce. This was easily the best meal I had during my time in Vietnam, which is very high praise as Vietnamese cuisine is amongst the best in the world. Everyone who visits Hanoi should pop in for a Bun Bo.

Ate here on our second day in Hanoi, we hadn't been bold enough to try street food yet and went here with a friend who had been before. Was a great way to dip your toes! Delicious food and great value (3 orders for $6), we went down a few doors and got sugarcane juice to drink with our meals.... More
