Bun bo Nam Bo is marinating the beef, then comes making 'nuoc cham' and the pickled vegetables (shredded carrot and papaya). The pickled vegies is crispy, a little sour and a little sweet, which even makes me eat two bowls of the noodle at once. Remember to pickle the carrot (and papaya first, before marinating the beef) since it takes at least 1 hour to get a good flavor on the carrot.

A bit expensive but worth your money

I've tried Bun bo nam bo at several restaurants around the country but this is the best that I have had. My friends also agree with me about that. The beef is sort enough, the fish source is really nice, all the ingredients are well mixed make it really delicious.

We went here tonight for dinner after reading other people's reviews on Trip Advisor. And we weren't disappointed. Was just as described. Walk in, take a seat and they bring you the one dish they serve. Very cheap meal and very tasty. There are two shops with the same name very close to each other. Make sure you go to... More

Not much for atmosphere, but the food was incredible. We ordered the basic dish and simply asked for "no meat" - leaving off the meat took a third off the price. Food came out in a minute or two and was delicious. My wife said it was the best food she'd had in Vietnam or Thailand. The broth didn't taste... More

This place serves some decent BBNB, which I have eaten all over Vietnam and other countries as well. But honestly, it is starting to suffer the fate of many other places that, once they are on tripadvisor for some time, they jack up prices, lower portion size and sometimes overall quality of food and the service. Also, this place lacks... More

The signature dish may be passable, but you'll lose your lunch after noticing that this place is CRAWLING with roaches. And why wouldn't it be? Rubbish, including rotting food scraps, are thrown haphazardly into open laundry baskets on the floor. It's DISGUSTING. Read the other reviews on here: People have gotten serious food poisoning from the bowl full of limp... More

Christ! They must be putting some sort of addictive substances in their food cause this place is exceptional. Beautiful food, rapid service and cheap beer had us back all of the 4 nights we were in Hanoi. Do not miss it!

During our stay in Hanoi we wanted to try as much of the local fare as possible. We deliberately sought out this place & thoroughly enjoyed our bun bo nam bo, along with a cold beer for lunch. The place was packed with people on their lunch break and we were lucky enough to score the very front seats on... More

Amazing dish (almost only dish on menu, can be veggy friendly). Great people. We simply had to go back more than once. We loved this place so much we had to return several times. The staff are nice and are not out to get you. Watch out that you get the right restaurant (one on the left) because to its... More

The tables are packed full of locals and travellers alike, and for good reason. Their dish (bun bo nam bo) was delicious and fresh. Great value also.

It's not often you get to go to a local joint and eat like a local and pay local prices, but that's what you get here. The restaurant (if you can call it that) is small, cramped and a bit dirty - there was a big bin under our table for rubbish, but the food was absolutely delicious! And there's... More
