Bun bo Nam Bo is marinating the beef, then comes making 'nuoc cham' and the pickled vegetables (shredded carrot and papaya). The pickled vegies is crispy, a little sour and a little sweet, which even makes me eat two bowls of the noodle at once. Remember to pickle the carrot (and papaya first, before marinating the beef) since it takes at least 1 hour to get a good flavor on the carrot.

Good for solo travellers!

I've never travelled alone before and so this being my first day I was quite nervous! I went into this place for lunch and it was so so nice - I walked in and awkwardly walked up to a table and sat down - the staff came over and instantly knew what I would want and then this incredible bowl... read more

The best noodle soup in Hanoi and is really reasonably price. The food is excellent; the setting is a bustling street-food place in central Hanoi. The tables are quite crammed together and expect to be in and out in 15 minutes. The floor is pretty dirty and there hardly anything by way of decor. You'll need to look past it... More

We decided to try a local cheap eats and although the restaurant was more like an alley way, it was clean and food was fresh. They offer only one dish- which is cooked in an open air kitchen at the front of the shop. Worth the experience!

Great meal in a restaurant that only serves one dish. Service was very fast and food/drinks cheap. Recommended!

Living in Hanoi for the last three years has taught me much including where to get an excellent Vietnamese meal .... Bun Bo Nam Bo (the one at 67 - repeat 67) ... Is simply brilliant. For an authentic Vietnamese meal at a very cheap price which is fresh and healthy (my wife and I have never had a problem... More

The signature meal is like a bowl of noodles without the soup. A bit sweet but very good. It is just around the corner from my hotel and I walked by it many times before I went in, and I was sorry that I hadn't entered before. Now that I think of I, I'll go there now for a late... More

Lunchtime stumble. Menu was surprisingly small after plenty of restaurants offering over 200 mediocre or bad overpriced dishes. Everything we ordered was great. Especially beef on a hot stone (?) was tender and served with lettuce and ricepaper sheets, dipping sauce and instructions how to eat them properly. 4 ppl bill with 3 dishes, 2 beers and 2 sodas was... We went here twice during out stay in Hanoi. The Bun Bo is fresh and tasty, a good combination of beef, rice noodles, mint, peanuts, bean spouts, fried onions and broth. Its a great cheap meal and you will eat surrounded by locals.

Date Visited: Jan 30, 2016 (lunch) Pricing: $2.50 for a bowl of Bun Bo (fresh rice noodles with a variety of vegetables and bbq beef) Pros: they only make one thing and they make it right. Get some appetizers from the lady who sells leaf-wrapped cakes at the entrance . Cons: I'm more of a Pho guy, but this bun... More
