Bun bo Nam Bo is marinating the beef, then comes making 'nuoc cham' and the pickled vegetables (shredded carrot and papaya). The pickled vegies is crispy, a little sour and a little sweet, which even makes me eat two bowls of the noodle at once. Remember to pickle the carrot (and papaya first, before marinating the beef) since it takes at least 1 hour to get a good flavor on the carrot.

A must while in Hanoi

This is a must while in Hanoi. Pull up a stool at the long communal tables and enjoy!! I'm not sure what the other reviews are talking about being expensive??? It is less than $3 usd to eat here!

One dish...noodles...but terrific noodles. There is a reason this place is packed with locals. Pretty cheap, beverages available. Nem chua to munch with cold beer available. Come for the great noodles. Good service. (atmosphere so-so, but you come for the food!!) I will return.

It costs 50,000 vnd per bowl, and the taste is good. You may need to wait for a seat during peak hours.

Best pho in Town, one dish made to perfection. Nice atmosphere. Full of locals. Only one dish in the menu.

The restaurant is recommended by a local. And now I highly recommend it to all of you. They don't serve pho but equally tasty noodles. We tried the beef noodles and we loved it a lot. The soup is delicious - sweet and appetising. But what impresses us the most is the extraordinarily friendly boss who's soooo attentive and caring.... More

The Old Quarter can be a bit pricey, especially the area near the Cathedral. We ate dinner here: 3 dishes, 2 beers, and a soft drink for 165,000 dong - about $7.50. It's a small space with not a lot of character, but the food is excellent. For something different, we tried sesame crackers ("pancakes" on the menu) with sauteed... More

This is not Pho. But it is still amazing!!! And for summer this is probably better than pho which is all hot liquid. With this you only get 1/3 of a bowl of soup and then a TON of noodles with some meat and veggies. It is still hot but not quite as intense as eating Pho. My husband LOVED... More

Yes, the traditional Bun Bo noodle dish is very fresh and delicious here with big serving sizes, however, this was the only dish available when we went on a Monday night. For 60,000 vmd this was a great cheap eat but the hygiene of the place didn't look great. There were tissues on the floor everywhere, dirty table surfaces etc.... More

Trusting the reviews on TripAdvisor we went to this restaurant. We were amazed by the Bun No Nam No dish, since we had a similar dish the previous night which was not so compelling... Eating there we met a French guy who explained that this restaurant has been open for more than 30 years, which explained why we ate mostly... More
