Description: Bun bo Nam Bo is marinating the beef, then comes making 'nuoc cham' and the pickled vegetables (shredded carrot and papaya). The pickled vegies is crispy, a little sour and a little sweet, which even makes me eat two bowls of the noodle at once. Remember to pickle the carrot (and papaya first, before marinating the beef) since it takes at least 1 hour to get a good flavor on the carrot.

When trying to find this place it can be very confusing, The restaurants name is the name of a dish and you will see it on walls and menus all around. Once we found the right place the food was lovely. Both myself and my GF had dishes with rice noddles. Mine were in a really tasty broth with meatballs... More

Rock up, sit down and there appears a bowl of freshly cooked ingredients making one of the tastiest meals I've had. Amazing value for money, simple and yet so effective. Not to be missed!

The best meal we had while in Hanoi. A menu with exotic choices, fresh ingredients and superb service. We liked it so much we patronized it several times.

Bun Bo Nam Bo serves up a delicious and inexpensive meal that have foreigners and Vietnamese filling up the tables day and night. Don't worry about not speaking Vietnamese-- this is the main dish and they will bring it to you straight away. It's 55,000 VND per bowl and I believe drinks were another 15,000 VND. You know it's a... More

Been here numerous times. Very tasty dry noodles which makes a change from Pho. Loads of noodles, beef, crispy shallots, salad and peanuts. Good value for a large bowl. Also try the nem chua here, very nice and great chilli sauce with it.

You sit down, you order drinks, you wait for your food order to be taken. Shortly afterwards your meal arrives..... What? There is only one dish on the menu, that's what you are served and you will love it. Enjoy!

What a tour! It is exactly what we wanted. We did some street stalls on fruit, did Bun Bo which we ended up coming back to at least 4 times, and other places. Lily was very knowledgeable and fun to be with. Hubby love the egg coffee and it was neat to be at the place it was invented. The... More

We were looking forward to this meal after a very long flight from Canada. Upon checking into our hotel we made a beeline for this place (dodging all the motorbikes at every crossing in the old quarter) and were not disappointed. We weren't sure how we would order as our Vietnamese is limited but they only serve one dish I... More

Wouldn't have dreamed of going here if not for tripadvisor but it was one of the best meals we had in Vietnam. Stainless steel tables and benches - sit where you can. One thing on the menu Bun Bo see other reviews for better description of ingredients etc. It tastes wonderful - a great range of flavours and very cheap.... More
