We had chefs Tasting menu which consisted of several courses which were reasonably priced. We also had the wine to accompany each course. Service was ok and no grumbles there. Restaurant and décor , A bit bare with no atmosphere at all. Only one other couple of diners in the restaurant. No complaints so if you`re visiting Hanoi for a... More

The food was interesting but not fantastic. Great presentation, though. The wines were very nice and the service very attentive. They tried to overcharge us for 2 six-course meals, listed as 1.15 million dong on the menu, for 1.365 each. Not cool. That has happened a few times in the last 3 weeks in Vietnam (usually they just "forget" to... More

My expectation: just the best! At least in Hanoi! Reality: totally overpriced, morbid French place Positive surprise: ordering the table .. The service guy did speak German ( I am German) Ordered a table for 8:00 The place is nice, old French style from the good old time in a little side street Surprise: All tables empty, ( Later two... 6 course meal was excellent---a little pricey but the food quality was great. Food was French / Vietnamese fusion and portions were quite small---but this was overcome by the quality and taste of the food. don't come here for Vietnamese food though, come for the gourmet experience

We made a reservation for dinner, which wasn't necessary as it turned out as the restaurant was quite empty on a Wednesday night. In fact we only did so because we inquired about vegetarian options and were advised to book in advance so the chef could be more prepared. The dinner was lovely, starting with a complementary entree on the... More

I have spent a great moment! Do you want to know the menu? Clams with curry sauce and artichokes, seabass with a mango jam... Delicious. Original, the Chief is an artist! You should make your own experience. The design of the restaurant is perfect! What can we wish else?

Our friends suggested La Verticale as they had enjoyed lunch there last year. Of the entrees, one dish was quite enjoyable, one lack lustre (bland),and the fish dish was slightly off. Unfortunately the mains were worse. Three of us had veal and all three foundthe veal tough and chewy. The fourth prawn and rice dish was over cooked and unappealing.... More

This was such an amazing experience. I was shocked to read other travellers poor reviews, I wouldn't be put off by them. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated upstairs straight away. The menu was explained to us - there were 4 options, we chose the 6 course tasting menu. Every course we had was absolutely delicious. Then we... More

We booked dinner for two and were disappointed with the ambience, hygiene and food. My chop stick had woodworm for chrissakes! The menu was pretentious and over priced and the waitress was inhospitable, even forgiving her poor English. The attempt to be artistic and creative on the plate was at the expense of taste, flavour and fullsomeness. We were not... More

We went because this was touted as the best restaurant in Hanoi. It wasn't bad - just nothing special. Had the tasting menu. Service was friendly and attentive. I would not have guessed this was the best restaurant in Hanoi.
