Our Hotel recommended this place for vegetarian fare - thank goodness! We had a lovely dinner here, sitting outside on the sidewalk, watching the crazy world of Hanoi go by! The staff were extremely friendly with pretty good English. They offer a decently large range of vegetarian options (be careful there as there is a meat menu as well!) and... More

All-vegetarian and doesn't include mock meat either and I think it was vegan-friendly too; in a busy street so you are definitely paying for prime location; good service, food was very quick and seemed fresh and fairly tasty though our rolls were over-fried. A bit pricey for Hanoi/Vietnam though (about VND400K for 1 entree, 2 mains and 2 beers).

Food is a little bland and overpriced to be honest, although it was all absolutely fine. Excellent fruit juices and drinks though. Definitely recommended for a place to chill, but not a destination place, at least not for the food.

We ate at the Tamarind Cafe twice during our 4 night stay in Hanoi. The first night was to experience the vegetarian delights and the second time was from our perspective out of necessity as we struggled to find restaurants catering to pure vegetarian needs. The clay pot was bountiful and tasty and my step daughter had these amazingly tasty... More

In a country focused on meat options, Tamarind was a great find. With something on the menu for everyone, we especially enjoyed the veggie kabobs and claypot. Portions are pretty generous and are reasonably priced. The staff are incredibly friendly, but it can take an act of God to get your bill. The atmosphere is quite relaxing, and there are... More

Fantastic veggie food - good value (not the cheapest) but excellent value compared to home. Finally got to try pho, staff were really friendly and helpful :)

I was warmly received by the youthly crew. I was glad they took me in at that time (2200) because it was pouring outside. The tamarinde and eggplant stew were a good combination with the house wine.

Excellent food with a broad vegetarian choice... Mushroom Clay Pot was great... Spring Rolls had a lovely sauce... Light taste.
