I was warmly received by the youthly crew. I was glad they took me in at that time (2200) because it was pouring outside. The tamarinde and eggplant stew were a good combination with the house wine.

Excellent food with a broad vegetarian choice... Mushroom Clay Pot was great... Spring Rolls had a lovely sauce... Light taste.

Place is nice. Free wifi, you can charge your technology equipment but for the rest I am not sure I would recommend. It is incredibly overpriced for what the offer. Fresh fruit shakes are much more expensive than other places in the old quarter and are just the same as in any other place. There is plenty of choice of... More

We dined at Tamarind Cafe twice during our stay in Hanoi. Twice because it was very close to our hotel in the Old Quarter and seemed to have better reviews on Tripadvisor compared to other places. On both occasions, we were disappointed with the food. The first time we tried Cheese Croquettes and Grillled Sandwich with a cappuccino. The 'Cheese'... More

We went there for dinner. The food was good. The chairs with the cushions are very comfortable. The waitress and the owner are smiley and nice. They both asked if everything was okay. Too much ginger in the crème brulée.

We visited Tamarind Cafe (rated #145 out of 856 restaurants on TripAdvisor) which is next door to Tu Linh Palace Hotel 2. Tamarind Cafe is a vegetarian restaurant with a relaxed couch atmosphere. We order spring rolls, both fresh and fried, the food tastes bland. I don't think this place is good value. We stayed for a while as the... More

Tamarind looks like a place you could easily walk past. The visit however makes you glad you didn't! Very friendly staff and, I must say, excellent food. The ambient makes it a perfect place in Old Quarter. Good for BF, lunch and dinner.

This was a pleasant place to stop after a long morning of wandering the Old Quarter. The food itself was fine but not amazing and a bit overpriced. The menu is kind of neither here nor there -- a mish-mosh of foods from around the world.

I am a vegetarian and was very satisfied with the variety of choices available at this restaurant. The food was above all very tasty and fresh. It was definitely one of the best restaurant that I experienced in Vietnam in term of food quality and extensive vegetarian menu provided. The restaurant also has some non-vegetarian options which worked great for... More
