Beautiful classic cafe and service could be better

This is a lovely venue... right by the water, lush gardens, classic architecture, romantic settings with nice views and presentation. This is a lovely venue... right by the water, lush gardens, classic architecture, romantic settings with nice views and presentation. We came with a small tour group and, of course, this usually affects the quality of the food and the service, and, while the food was good, it was not exceptional. The service was, basically, absent. So, come for the views... More

We went here for lunch on the recommendation that they served delicious spring rolls. After a brief wait for a table (couple of minutes max) we were ushered through a beautiful garden to our riverside table. The view from this restaurant is absolutely stunning. The spring rolls ordered, were very tasty. I ordered the hot and sour chicken and it... More

Our experience at Brother's Cafe may be different from those who are going there to eat lunch or dinner, as our visit there was part of a group excursion. I wanted to review Brother's Cafe to comment on the service and atmosphere. From the moment our group arrived until the time we left, staff went out of its way to... More

I like the decoration of this coffee shop than the quality of coffee. Cozy and Light. It is what I like when come here.

I can only agreed with most other reviewers: great ambiance, average food on a quality/value scale. Brother's has been doing the same thing for about the last decade: lovely, outdoor atmosphere (peaceful before 7:30 pm, noisy when the courtyard fills up), buffet "street" food, some of it cooked to order. Because of the layout, the buffet line can be cramped... More

Looked a bit overpriced on the menu off the street, thought we would have a look anyway. Great service in a peacefull tranquil atmosphere, right on the river. Good was more expensive than around town but for good reason. Excellent flavors in every dish. Nice cold beer and ampul staff to cater every need, very professional and speak great english

We visited it as it was recommended by Lonely Planet. My outdated copy rated it as $, but it is no longer so now that it has a new management. Nine of us had the lunch buffet. The local students in our group enjoyed the bbq prawns, ribs, squid, oysters and snails. It was an opportunity for us visitors to... More

... though dinner may be better. This is a wonderful, atmospheric building, and our guidebook recommended the lunch buffet. Reasonable prices, but the food was less than so-so and the service was terrible! The wait staff stood around checking their mobile phones and we had to actually wake the woman at the noodle station up so she would fix something... More

Ok this is a buffet. You can't possibly expect more out of a buffet. 2 persons are preparing some food on fells when you request them to. Free flow of wine but the water is chargeable. We recommend it as it is a balance with quan an ngon, less crowded, even romantic, quiet and nice desserts ;-)
