Had a wonderful dinner here. The French onion soup was superb and the seabass was the best I have ever had. Try to get a table outside, on a warm night and ask for Song. (they do have gas heaters) He is the best waiter at the restaurant and maybe all of Hanoi. Enjoy your dinner

We chose this place for our romantic birthday dinner with my husband. We booked a table in advance, and I believe that was a right thing to do, because there were no free tables at all. It is better to ask for a table right under the windows, they look more cosy. For dinner we had French onion soup, French... More

This restaurant is situated in the landmark Hotel Metropole Hanoi, a beautiful venue in its own right, at least so far as the common areas go (we did not stay in the Hotel). After two weeks of eating in fair to good restaurants in Southeast Asia, my wife and I and seven of our friends decided to treat ourselves to... More

Best Sunday Brunch in Hanoi, not cheap but worth every single Dong !!! Next to great fresh oysters and freshly fried Foie Gras, nice salad bar and unique sweets, you will get as a new highlight the famous French 'Veuve Cliquot' champaign - next to an excellent choice of red and white wines from various origins. A must on a... More

I dined here for an early Christmas dinner and was quite rush so I only ordered 2 courses. My starter - poached foie gras - was chosen from the Foie Gras promotion menu and it was the most tasteless thing I have ever eaten at a restaurant. Bread was good but it was quite dissappointing to have to amuse bouche... More

The service is all that you would expect from a first class restaurant, attentive, helpful and unobtrusive. The ambience is a little too clinical for our tastes: warmer, more subdued lighting would improve things. And the food is carefully prepared, nicely presented and very tasty. This, in our opinion, is not quite Michelin star standard: the food is not quite... More

This rates as one of the most exceptional meals I have experienced. The menu is french inspired and did not disappoint. I shared the chateaubriand with my daughter and followed it up with crepe suzette. The wines were superbly matched to the cuisine. The Sommelier was knowledgeable, well travelled and experienced and more than happy to share his experiences which... More

Absolutely amazing dinner here... we both ordered the lobster bisque which was finished and served at the table and a steak that they make as a specialty of the restaurant that is served with foie gras and black truffle sauce and I honestly nearly passed out with delight. It was the best thing I have tasted in my life... A... More

From the greeting to the farewell, my wife and I had as good a fine dining experience as we'd had anywhere in the world.Food and service excellent. The only minor negative was the elevator style music piping through the restaurants sound system.

What was the chef thinking that s/he could serve a coq au vin dish that contained chicken so tough it would not yield to a knife, in a gravy so dark and lacking in delicacy it should have belonged to an overlooked pot roast! Dessert was crepes suzette, a simple dish really, but this version was, well, soggy. This is... More
