Expensive but good (not great)

This was our final formal meal after a 9 day trip to Vietnam meeting with a variety of government officials in our humanitarian work here. What a magnificent lunch buffet! About a dozen or more fabulous international food displays laid out quite nicely on separate tables, including several 'food stations' where restaurant staff served fresh foods. Just the fish table was worth the very modest price of this luxurious feast! Service in this lovely restaurant at this very upscale hotel lived up to expectations.

We had dinner at Le Beaulieu on a Monday evening and were very disappointed by the food and service. This was an expensive meal and the only meal we had in Hanoi that we didn't enjoy. We had the four course tasting menu. The first two courses were very poor, tasteless foie gras in an unpleasant grainy soup, followed by... More

Went for dinner at this restaurant which is situate at the the Metropole this one of the better French restaurants in Hanoi which is famed for its French atmosphere and cuisine. Service is fast and polite. Extensive menu and great wine list. The pan fried foie gras is excellent. The rest of the menu is excellent too. Will recommend.

The lunch buffet at Le Beaulieu restaurant in the Sofitel Legend Metropole reflect the French excellence in term of gastronomy! All the items on the buffet are chosen carefully and coincide with genuine French culinary culture. At the contrary of the others 5* Hotels buffets, the production is little and the refill is continuous. You can feel the professionalism and... More

Good food but not at all related with the price of the "menu degustation". Service was nice but too quick: we received the starter while we hadn't received the aperitif yet. Quality not in line with what it pretends to be i.e. one of the best restaurants of Hanoi. I would not recommend it

While staying here we ate both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is a huge selection of different types of breakfast foods. Vietnamese, Chinese, American, French and English. Excellent. For dinner I had a very good fish dish and molten chocolate cake for dessert. Both were well prepared.

We were staying at the Metropole and ate breakfast here two mornings. The selection was incredible, the service superb and a great environment. The Pho is supposed to be the best in Hanoi. With choices to suit every palate it was a great way to start the day.

My husband took me out last Sunday! It took for about 15 to 20 mins drive from Vinhomes Riverside to Le Beaulieu restaurant. It was Sunday and 'twas a bit busy, lucky we had reservation so all went smoothly. To start with, for a first timer on the place, all look fabulous! Classy and love the French touch of the... More

I find it strange that this restaurant gets so many good reviews when the facts - based on my experience - are: 1- Their lunch buffet spread is one of the most limited I've seen 2- They generally won't bother about replenishing their buffet; for the lunch buffet, by around 1pm what you will find will mostly be leftovers.... 3-...
