Description: A favourite with discerning visitors, residents and food critics alike...
A favourite with discerning visitors, residents and food critics alike, The Restaurant is one of Hanoi’s premier fine dining experiences. Located on the third floor, The Restaurant’s understated colonial ambience of sleek wood floors and furniture, crisp white linen and warm red and green hues, combined with impeccable service, permeates both discreetness and refinement. With a classically trained, European Executive Chef at the helm of an award-winning team of chefs, cuisine is classical French, with a contemporary twist and subtle Asian influences. Dishes are light and simple, yet with an innovative depth of flavours. Only the finest, freshest ingredients are used. Enjoy lunch and dinner from the a la carte or set lunch menus, or regular culinary promotions and special events. Two private rooms seating four or twelve are superb for intimate dining and entertaining, be it business or social occasions. The extensive choice of old and new world wines showcased in temperature-controlled glass cabinets have been endorsed by prestigious US wine magazine Wine Spectator, with an “Award of Excellence” for one of the finest wine lists in the world. The adjoining Restaurant Bar is a mellow spot to relax, whatever the occasion - especially when it’s Happy Hour. Plump sofas, rattan bar stools and low lights afford a cozy informality. Kick back and enjoy the great choice of beverages - including award-winning wines - or perhaps an after-dinner cognac or port to accompany the finest Cuban cigars, kept in mint condition in dehumidifier cabinets. The Terrace affords great views of the French Quarter beyond the potted palm plants. This open-air, third floor terraced area is where anything can happen – and very often does; host to a multitude of public or private events, be it Christmas and New Year celebrations, wedding receptions and anniversaries, corporate dinners, sporting events and themed party nights. With in-house sound equipment, large stage and informal seating facilities, this is Hanoi’s happening al fresco venue, whatever the occasion, whoever the crowd!

Great cocktails

Good central location, large terrace for cocktails. Meal and service fine but wine expensive and quite a number of tour groups. Restaurant and bar quite atmospheric and quiet corners available should you wish.

The first thing that really impressed us about the Press Club was the gorgeous interior design. We felt like we’d been transported back in time to a more glamorous era, think 1920’s café society, with polished wooden surfaces and subtle Vietnamese touches reminding you that you were in Hanoi. But, most importantly, the food was delicious, we loved everything we... More

Lovely restaurant with regular entertainment including live jazz band. The food is excellent and the staff are attentive and friendly. If you are in Hanoi this is a must visit restaurant and the cost is quite reasonable for such a lovely location. There is an outdoor terrace and plenty of smaller rooms within the restaurant.

As other reviewers report, this is a pleasant escape from the noises, smells, and traffic of Hanoi, where you can get Western comfort food. The staff aim to please, though sometimes it was hard to understand their English and I think our English was hard for them to understand (alas, I don't yet speak Vietnamese). The food was fine. I... The Press club offers quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. You can enjoy dinner on the third floor terrace or wander inside for some very good jazz. To accompany a drink and snacks or a deliciousmeal. Impeccable service and offering a selection of asian fusion and western dishes all using the best ingredients this is for those... More

I have been to Hanoi 7 times and each time I promised myself to go to the Press Club. Since I don't know if I'd be back, I made it a point to go there for lunch. As a solo female traveler, I was treated very nice and was given a table where I could enjoy the view both inside... More

This is a wonderful quiet restaurant with ambience. The food was far from excellent. The main dish (pork) was under cooked.

The restaurant has 2 parts: one is very fancy and the other is caleed "the bar area" and is great for all meals. We had dinner here twice at the "bar area" . The menu offers Vietnamese, Asian and western food. Service was very good and the food tasty and very reasonably priced.
