Description: A favourite with discerning visitors, residents and food critics alike, The Restaurant is one of Hanoi’s premier fine dining experiences. Located on the third floor, The Restaurant’s understated colonial ambience of sleek wood floors and furniture, crisp white linen and warm red and green hues, combined with impeccable service, permeates both discreetness and refinement. With a classically trained, European Executive Chef at the helm of an award-winning team of chefs, cuisine is classical French, with a contemporary twist and subtle Asian influences. Dishes are light and simple, yet with an innovative depth of flavours. Only the finest, freshest ingredients are used. Enjoy lunch and dinner from the a la carte or set lunch menus, or regular culinary promotions and special events. Two private rooms seating four or twelve are superb for intimate dining and entertaining, be it business or social occasions. The extensive choice of old and new world wines showcased in temperature-controlled glass cabinets have been endorsed by prestigious US wine magazine Wine Spectator, with an “Award of Excellence” for one of the finest wine lists in the world. The adjoining Restaurant Bar is a mellow spot to relax, whatever the occasion - especially when it’s Happy Hour. Plump sofas, rattan bar stools and low lights afford a cozy informality. Kick back and enjoy the great choice of beverages - including award-winning wines - or perhaps an after-dinner cognac or port to accompany the finest Cuban cigars, kept in mint condition in dehumidifier cabinets. The Terrace affords great views of the French Quarter beyond the potted palm plants. This open-air, third floor terraced area is where anything can happen – and very often does; host to a multitude of public or private events, be it Christmas and New Year celebrations, wedding receptions and anniversaries, corporate dinners, sporting events and themed party nights. With in-house sound equipment, large stage and informal seating facilities, this is Hanoi’s happening al fresco venue, whatever the occasion, whoever the crowd!

It was good. I had the fish........I had better and I had worse. Salad was very good, pumpkin soup was relish. Bread was outstanding. It was on a tour so we didn't pay. But it is probably over priced. Water refills were slow

We were a group of about 50 travellers who ate here for our farewell dinner. Service and food was excellent, well presented and good portions in a "Press Club" stle surroundings. It is located on the 3rd floor and is around the corner from the Sofitel Hotel and next to Starbucks. You won't be disappointed and they speak English.

This lovely restaurant is on a side street on the 3rd floor (lift available) but easy to find. A reservation is recommended as this is a small restaurant. Beautiful wooden floors and room dividers which separates it into small intimate areas. Staff are knowledgeable and attentive. The menu is a mix of Vietnamese and international dishes. Service is quick and... More

Fabulous private room dining for four of us. Restaurant was very empty. Nice service, but mediocre food. Steak house style food with Australian beef cut thin. A pretty good wine selection for Vietnam and dramatic décor. We left late, and found the bar to be thumping and crowded with Westerners in their 30s. I would go back again for the... More

While it is called the Press Club, it is a public restaurant across from the Metropole. It is classy, with great food and quiet, efficient service.

Had drinks on the terrace...good ambiance in an historic bar...Graeme Green mentions it in "The Quiet American". To be fair we ate there with a large group and a limited preset menu so that "may" account for the ordinary nature of the food. The service was, however, incredible.

The press club has horrible service (it took over 20 min to get our bill and we never got to order a second round of drinks because our waiter disappeared), mediocre food (everything was bland and uninspired), and over priced. We won't be going back.

We had a great lunch with our office team at Press Club last week. The food and the wine are fabulous. People are so nice and so caring. I will come back for dinner with family/friends one day to enjoy this great ambience.

I was introduced to the Press Club by a colleague for lunch and was so impressed that my wife and I came back for dinner. The atmosphere is similar to the Metropole Hotel across the other side of the road - definitely pre-war with teak wood jalousies operated with little brass handles. all very Somerset Maugham.
