Having visited Chiang Mai 3 times a year for the last 8 years we thought it was about time to try this interesting lively cafe/restaurant right on the moat and made this our farewell meal having spent 16 enjoyable days in the city. We did not book and having read the reviews realised we may well not get a table... More

The concept of The House and Ginger Cafe, could be a homewares store with a cafe attached...however, we saw it as a Restaurant with additional shopping nearby. We chose to eat here twice, 4 adults and 1 teen, and both times ate inside, in the airconditioned serene surrounds, complimentary guitarist (nice man from Burma)...all seated on couches or armchairs with... Excellent restaurant in the middle of Chiang Mai; exquisite decor, wonderful food and coctails selection albeit a bit short on the wine list, service is impeccable. Highly recommended.

Had been for lunch with family in June 2014. Positives : - Excellent taste. Apart from thai, they also have conti and italian stuff - Ambience is decent (not a typical restaurant but a shop n restaurant) - Great service staff - They were able to dish out stuff from outside the menu as we were a group of veggies... I was just amazed by the whole concept of little nice shops with such cute stuff and the cosy restaurant. The food was presented very very nice, tasted excellent, we had such a lovely evening. Next day I returned a purchased the beautiful clutch I saw in one of the shops - I just couldn't resist and I enjoyed one... More

Firstly the environment is great, romantic and quiet. Food wise, the Thai platter is definitely a blown away course! I can never had enough for that! The vegetables with spice and sauce mix so well and it's something new to my taste bud. As for the carbonara, it's creamy and ok...for the lamb shank, it's a little bit too salty... More

If you are looking for something quiet, and very nice, then go no further. We have eaten here at least 10 time in the past 18 months. They have a broad menu, good cocktails and desserts. Their Thai appetizer plate is outstanding; I would go just for that.

Into air conditioned comfort with eclectic furnishing and decoration this was a nice relief from the heat and hustle of the street. Yes the service was a bit slow but we weren't in any hurry but it was served with a smile. The platters are a great way to have a tasting of several different foods - one can eat... More

Great atmosphere and the shop was cute, but the food is only okay and def not a bargain compared to all the amazing little local restaurants in the area.
