If you're looking for a break from hectic Chiang Mai, this simple restaurant is just behind Wat Suan Dok and housed in a lovely garden atmosphere. The food is organic and there is nice variety. All items are very low priced and I suggest going with friends and ordering lots of different things to share.

I am not a vegetarian, but I know enough about food that it should not taste burnt (stir-fried wide rice noodle with egg, tofu, mushroom, and vegetable) as if I were eating an ashtray. Also ordered the fiddlehead fern salad which was okay. The other miss was the homemade fermented mushroom sausage with garlic, lime, onion, and ginger. It sounds... More

Perfectly situated behind a Temple under a beautiful tree. Simple and wholesome vegetarian food, small portions but absolutely delicious. Amazing value, you'll feel nourished leaving.

There is a new Pun Pun, located at the very end of Suthep Rd (about 100 meters before going up the mountain road) on the left side of the street. Menu is the same, Pleasant atmosphere. It is also a cooking school, I understand. Definitely worth a try. The ambience of this newbie is perhaps a touch under Pun Pun... More

This place has a lot of ambiance being located in a watt and all and around a bhodi tree, I went to about 15 vegetarian restaurants when I was in Chiang Mai and this was probably the best tasting food. It's very far from the old city, a full 40 minute walk, it's not open after 4, and the dishes... More

this was once a pleasant place with good, organic food at reasonable prices. recently they increased prices for second time in a year (still not expensive, but neither cheap anymore), downsized their portions (curries now come in half full coffee cups instead of prior fully served bowls) and gone cheap on some ingredients (coconut milk is now a cheap, tasteless... Excellent vegetarian restaurant behind the Suan Dok temple. Serene location, a huge variety of healthy and tempting food to satisfy everyone's tastes, and good for people watching, too. Fabulous!

Dined midday here yesterday- it was fabulous. The slower pace was easily outweighed by the amazing, fresh, and bright flavors. Creative uses and blends of spices make for some truly unique and memorable (delicious!) dishes. I'll be back for sure.

I eat here often and any guest who comes to visit me is always taken to Pun Pun. A simple cafe with out door seating around and under a huge tree is nice atmosphere and cool. It restaurant is behind "Monk Chat" sits toward the rear of Wat Suan Dok. Everything is fresh and sourced locally which can some times... More
