Been twice first time was better, our last visit I ordered scallops they were warm. I have never had warm sushi so I just ate two pieces, that night didn't feel good next day next day had to stay close to the bathroom if you know what I mean Twice sick on sushi in one month (another small spot) I... Was in the neighbourhood so stopped in. The small restaurant was almost full of a younger crowd of Thais and tourists but not a Japanese person in sight, not a good sign. After sitting down and getting menus the staff then ignored us for ten minutes while they cleaned empty tables. The folks beside us were playing cards, when we... More

This place was difficult to find, unless you are very familiar with the Nimmanhaemin area. It is between two sois on an adjoining alleyway. The decor is rather plain, but not unattractive. We were seated at a small table towards the back of the restaurant, and the waitress was kind enough to offer us a larger table near the front... More

I have my favourite Japanese places in CM but decided to give it a try after passing it many times. It always appeared a bit non traditional from the outside to be great. Anyhow, the decor was simplistic but functional. We had to sit at the sushi bar on stools as the small place was packed mainly with western tourists.... More

The prices were decent, the presentation was lovely but the overall taste was overpowered by crazy thick gooey sauces. The atmosphere was average, and service was good. They would have me coming back if they offered a few lighter options, i love sushi but everything either had deep friend tempura or half a pound of mayonnaise slopped on!

Fresh fish, creative dishes and quick service. We ate here twice and really enjoyed the scallops and dragon sushi. The fried food was a bit heavy and I wouldn't order it again but all the rest was delicious and nicely presented.

This is not the place to go for a serious sushi experience. I cringe to say it but I have had better luck at the Fuji and Zen chains. To be fair, I only ordered 2 dishes, one maki roll and one negeri, but that was enough. The volcano roll, which I ordered to taste eel was gluey and crunchy.... More

It is small but clean. The food was good. I like Gozzilla sushi and catapillar sushi.

Another reviewer described Sumo Sushi as "westernised sushi" of which I would certainly agree. If you want traditional Sushi and Sashimi you wont find it here. It is definitely more fusion which isn't my thing when it comes to Japanese food . As for quality and freshness of food that cant disputed. A little on the pricey side compared to... More

I visited Sumo Sushi with my German friend Marcus who is a true Japanese expert. His Japanese is so good that a native can not tell the difference on the phone. He also lived in Japan for years and was married to a Japanese wife. We ordered a long sushi roll that was beautifully shaped like a dragon. He told... More
