If you like to have one meal and drink in a Western/Thai type of restaurant this is the place to go. The food was excellent (we all had Thai food). Our interest was to drink else than beer and wisky. That was nice and it was cheap. The only disappointment was the wine, it was too warm.

I'm not a huge fan of none air conditioned eating venues but I wanted to try the Sunday 6pm roast dinner buffet which is all you can eat 200 bht. There is a fantatic food spread on offer and therefore would be the great value for money but unfortunately there was for me one huge draw back which was that... More

Visited Gekko garden again in November still amazed at the size of the portions for the small price tags, also probably the cheapest drinks to be had of any bar in Chiang Mai. Rudy the owner I have always found to be a friendly larger than life character.

Previous reviewers have given varied and, if taken together, an accurate assessment of Gekko Garden so I needn't repeat their comments. One, however, which resonates is its very decent value for money. I found this true of the Sunday Roast Buffet which I sampled last weekend. It was not high class dining but didn't purport to be. For the extremely... More

This little expat-restaurant with a vast menu and specials like fx. sunday roast-dinner, all you can eat and fish / chips 119 THB at another weekday, Banana-split 79 THB. Prices are very low, esp.on drinks - Big Chang 75 THB ... The staff tho could more attentive at evening-serving. At lunch the staff are very nice and pleasant, esp. Porn.... More

Maybe typical of American restaurants, with large portions but low quality food. Had the sunday buffet: old, tired meat, weird brown mash and generally tasteless slop. Full of old codgers too. Maybe the menu is better??

I have been here a few times because it is one of the few fa-rang owned establishments that doesn't charge tourist prices for their booze and food, and which has never ripped me off. Much more to the point, besides serving a devil's portion of animal flesh and butter-drenched fa-rang favorite entrees at reasonable prices, they can also whip up... More

I arrived in Chiang Mai and found the Gekko Garden upon the recommendation of a friend. First, the ambiance is awesome. Giant fans keep the Thailand heat away. The decor is like an oasis. Big wagon wheel benches have padded cushions to sit on. The Gekko Garden is surrounded by trees and one tree is in the center of the... More
