Great Food, On the Expensive Side

The food was amazing, we ordered Duck Confit and Rack of Lamb to split, it was delicious. The sauce for the lamb was spot on, and the sides of squash and potatoes were amazing. The duck was well cooked, seasoned, and presented. Yes, we ordered some of the more expensive items, but an average... read more

A friend and I ate here one evening and would not wake any effort to return. When we walked past we saw the Resturant nearly full (usually a good sign) and with no booking we were seated at the only available table, outside. Both of us started with a Singha beer which was not really cold but acceptable. With the... More

We had a great dinner here, The lamb chops and a beef filet with a caper sauce. Both were very good, especially the beef, tender, and perfectly cooked. Both dishes came with lots of steamed fresh vegetables and a starch, The homemade warm bread was a treat. Oh, and the chocolate mousse!!!!!!

The chef's salad was actually enough for lunch. The tenderloin with french fries and veggies was excellent. Good selection of wines.

Luckily my husband walked to the restaurant and made a reservation as they were turning away people without bookings. We got a lovely table on the terrace, great for people watching on one of Chiang Mai's busiest streets. Prompt and friendly service. We took our own bottle of wine along - nominal charge of B150. We had mushroom cassoulate, asparagus... More

To be honest, it was with some misgiving that I decided to try this restaurant, when I found my preferred option was closed for the week -- but I it has taught me not to judge a book by its cover! Chez Marco is situated among the girlie bars on Loi Kroh and in the daytime it doesn't look anything... More

When we entred the restaurant it didn't seem to us like the food would be good. But we gave it a try because it was written in our travel guide. If you hard enought to seat on a chair which has cracks in the leather (or plastic?) and see the toilet all the time which can be better hidden with... More

In the day time the terrace does not look as nice as in the evening. We had dinner and reserved an outside table, a greay place for people watching. We had the mushroom cassollette which is very nice, you can choose to have it with truffle oil or butter. Then I had the tuna carpacchio and my friends chose the... More

The restaurant itself is bang in the middle of many girlie bars, so it's a bit out of character, but once inside, the ambience is nice. There's both an inside and outside area. The food was excellent and the service was good. I did find the staff a little stiff and robotic which is a shame but it wouldn't stop... More
