Good food, Try the Koy Soy and the flavoury and spicy sausage. Good prices. Busy at lunchtime. Difficult to get a table for dinner.

Fancied some genuine local cuisine so tried this place. Was seated at the back of the restaurant in fantastic surroundings. However had to wait an age to attract the attention of the of the waiter to get the table cleared and ask for a menu three times. Ordering food suffered the same ordeal. It's as if they had blinkers on.... More

Great restaurant. Head inside and eat in the well decorated and ornate room. Must try the fried chicken appetizer, best chicken I think I have ever had. We also had the sausage which wasn't overly exciting and the spare ribs which were delicious. Also had the special fried rice which was essentially an omelette with rice, not the best. The... More

This is one of the most popular local restaurants for trying northern delicacies. It's often crowded, but the good taste never compromise. Price is very reasonable and service is friendly and fast. Highly recommended for trying unique northern style Thai food, as it is not easily available in Bangkok.

A favorite haunt for those seeking authentic northern style cuisine with unique flavors and takes on local dishes. The collection of rooms and layers of antiques, artifacts and decorations add to the dining experience. The set dinners offer a great way to try out a variety of tastes.

This is our 6th visit to Chiangmai Mai & till tonight Huen Phen has always been our favourite. We arrived early evening, maybe 10 other pax there. Taken to a table promptly & given a menu. A good 5 minutes later another couple were seated at the table next to us. We're still trying to catch one of the many... More

Went for our first dinner in Chiang Mai here but our experience wasn't great. The food is average and tiny portioned (too spicy and heavy for us) and location difficult to find in the dark. The ambience seemed authentic but full of tourists.

Note that the Dinner outlet is different from the Lunch outlet. Also, the menus are different for Lunch vs Dinner. e.g. khao soi is not available for dinner as it is deemed a lunch item (ok, am I the only one who didn't know that!) While a little "touristy", this is a local-food place that serves northern thai food in... More
