This restaurant / bakery is located by the western gate to the old city, away from the touristy places which are clustered around the eastern gate. I couldn't resist going in when I saw the man watering the flowers at the front. It is frequented by Thais with few westerners. It is a very attractive space, partly air conditioned with... More

The food was sub-par and the strawberry smoothie tasted like it had been made with strawberry jam or maybe Jello powder. So sweet. If there is no other option, this place is... More

The coffee was decent. The smoothies were too sweet, cakes are alright. We ordered lunch there because we were desperate and that was a mistake.

Fai Bakeries seem to crop up in several neighbourhoods in Chiang Mai and offer decent pastries and smoothies. Labeling on the food can be difficult; I once chomped into what I thought was a croissant and found a big lump of dried, shredded pork, which sort of blows for a vegetarian.

Some nice stuff but nothing extraordinary. Definitely not a place to sit and enjoy. That said great to get something for the bus visa run.
