For a Pitstop, it's okay

The coffee was decent. The smoothies were too sweet, cakes are alright. We ordered lunch there because we were desperate and that was a mistake.

I checked out this place because it was listed on Nancy Chandler's map of Chiang Mai for cheap Thai eats and I was in the area and hungry. The food was sub-par and the strawberry smoothie tasted like it had been made with strawberry jam or maybe Jello powder. So sweet. If there is no other option, this place is... More

I came here a few times because it was convenient but I just ended up feeling ripped off. The coffees tastes burnt and the milk is a strange pale colour, plus if you ask for a little extra they charge you. A single piece of toast is 20 baht, and my egg came out totally raw. I sent it back... More

Fai Bakeries seem to crop up in several neighbourhoods in Chiang Mai and offer decent pastries and smoothies. Labeling on the food can be difficult; I once chomped into what I thought was a croissant and found a big lump of dried, shredded pork, which sort of blows for a vegetarian.

Some nice stuff but nothing extraordinary. Definitely not a place to sit and enjoy. That said great to get something for the bus visa run.

There are several Fai Bakery outlets around town. All clean and modern, rather cantine like in appearance. Good place for an inexpensive Thai lunch. Although being a bakery they sell cakes and cookies, and although there is nothing wrong with them at all - they are the Asian style of what western cakes are. For coffee and cake there are... More

Fai restaurant and bakery is just as it says. I will review the restaurant part first: Four of us went there for meal and were presented with a menu written in Thai, but with the English translation underneath. We were very specific about which meals we ordered, pointing and repeating what we wanted. What 3 of us received was nothing... More

Located away from the usual tourist areas in the "old city" section of Chiang Mai is Fai Bakery. Fai Bakery sells very tasty and cheap Thai pastries as well as local Thai dishes in the restaurant that is connected to the bakery. The food at the restaurant was very good and good sized for the price. The local dishes tended... More
