There are a few weird items on the menu, like a lot of seemingly california inspired vegetarian sushi, but the thai we had was very good. We've only eaten at like 5 places in chiang mai at this point, but so far this was the one of the best. Perhaps a little pricey, but with thailand being relatively cheap and... More

Came here twice during our stay in Chiang Mai. First time round had a selection of all sorts, spring rolls, samosa, indian curry, deep fried herbs, brown rice, khao soi, tempura vegetables. Everything was really tasty and came every quick. The reason we came back was the khao soi though, was delicious. Was reasonably priced and the service was friendly... More

Perhaps I'm just a person who is always a bit rushed thus I shouldn't judge, but I've been going to Aum for at least 15 years and the extremely slow service is the only thing that keeps me from returning more often. The food is good but waiting 45 minutes for a banana shake is rediculous...

But now the prices are almost double from what they used to be a few years back. Food is still good though.

I defined my line of reviews as "hotel only"... But I could not resist to write about this lovely and cosy restaurant. Even if you are not a vegetarian you will be delighted with the food: everything is fresh and delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I went to this restaurant twice during my stay in Chiang Mai. Do... Great vegetarian menu and good place to go if you have food allergies/sensitivies (a girl at the next table made requests which the waitress was very happy to accomodate but the girl did have a note in her pocket with her food allergies written down in Thai - so take a note with you if you need to). Not ideal... More

At some point during my trip, I felt like I needed a break from Thai food. I was very grateful to have found Aum. The food is good, the owners understand vegetarian food, and the prices were slightly high but not by that much. Definitely give it a try.

When we go back to a place and order the same thing we know we liked it. The fresh veggie spring rolls with pickled ginger on the side and tamarind sauce were delicious and filling for 60 baht! That was definitely our favourite dish so far..... the stir fries are gently seasoned and not salty. A great bet for veggie... More

Chiang Mai has a plethora of great veggie restaurants, but I frequent Aum the most (probably about 20 times now). The reasons I keep coming back include tasty food, central location (right next to Thapae Gate), friendly fast service, nice environment, and good social opportunities (I have met lots of cool people there). My favorite dish is the Khao Soi,... More
