My friend Naomi and I were hankering for pizza one night, and stopped by on recommendation from our hotelier at the gloroious Pak Chiang Mai. We wound up coming back TWICE! Great food in a cafe-like eatery, with outdoor seating! Everything was fresh and in large portions. Very reasonable prices (not like Italian restaurants that try to rip off tourists!)... more
This restaurant is on the street stretching into the old city from the Tha Pae Gate; they have the walking craft faire market and close the street on Sundays. Possibly the best Italian restaurant in Chiang Mai. I didn't like La Gondala and the other two places but Girasole is good. They have a great location and they don't let you down with the main items of business: food and service. Not the cheapest but good value. more
After stumbling, literally, across Girasole, I have returned five times to sample the exquisite and mouth watering Italian dishes. The Carbonara is excellent. The deserts are homemade gelatos. You must visit Girasole if you have the time. more
