We ate here during our visit to Bangkok. It was a 15 minute walk from our hotel (Anantara Sathorn). We had a complimentary dish of meang kam - leaves filled with different bits ie peanuts; dipping sauce and was delicious. We also had a Gaeng Massaman Gai (chicken) and Khung Lai Sua Phad Song Kruang (huge Prawns) and a pad... More

I took my partner there for a special night out. The food was good and the drinks also. It was a very nice atmosphere. The service was ok not too attentive though. It is very pricey, but for a special night it is worth it.

After two dinners at another restaurant, that chef recommended the Baan Khanitha to our group of 6. The setting was lovely and the preparations, especially of the appetizers, were somewhat unusual. Though significantly pricier than the other restaurant Baan Khanitha offered a pleasant surrounding, great service and fine food.

Baan Khanitha was recommended to us by the director of the Fulbright Specialist program (their office is a few blocks away). It is not inexpensive, but it was delicious. They first brought a complimentary appetizer, which consisted of large leaves and little dishes of condiments: very hot diced peppers, a sweetish spread, peanuts, pieces of lime and ginger, and coconut... My wife and I were staying at the Shangri-La along the river so it was such a good idea to do what needed doing (shopping, massage, etc) during the day and then just hop onto the free ferry service provided by the hotel in the evening to head over the Asiatique. We had dinner at Asiatique on two of the... More

I went to the Asiatique Riverfront branch as I had to bring some foreigner friends for Thai food. I would say that the food was good but not that great for the prices. The food is overpriced and the serving portion is only good for 2-3 person, any more than that you would have to order 2 servings. Service was... More

Tourist trap, providing small portions, average Thai food! You can get better Thai food elsewhere. Ambience was ok but nothing else special.

I went to Baan Khanitha on Sukhumvit 53. The restaurant has a very nice bar adjacent to it with a DJ playing decent house music so nice pre and post dinner drinks. Restaurant is very nice decor and has recently been renovated, feels more like a European fine dining restaurant. I had mixed appetiser which was fish cakes, spring roll... More

Well, this is Thai food that does not burn your throat, then some will say it is not "truly" thai but for the rest it is a very nice place and the food is really tasty and full of those flavors that make Thai food so great. Don't miss the Tom Yam...
