Good food, good service, exhorbitant prices

The food is good (not the best in Bangkok, but good). The service is good (better than most places). The prices are ridiculous (about Baht 2400 for set dinner with a drink or two -- or about C$100). Atmosphere is very nice, but can get a better meal at the Oriental Hotel's Thai restaurant for less.

We had dinner here and it started strange as one of the owners ignored us because right after us big group entered the restaurant so we did not feel that welcomed. We took the Taste menu, which was interesting but I found it not that special. A kind of variation on the original Thai food but am in doubt wether... More

Its authentic Thai Food. Service was impeccable and we had some dishes which we had not tried before. Love the 2 x different rice they served. But a bit pricey.

Fantastic dinner in January 2016! The food was great! I had one of the soups as a starter and the pad thai as a main. Everything was great and very tasty! The decoration and amosphere were fanstatic as well! we were sitted on the ground floor, which i would recommend most as i felt the decoration was a bit more... More

I first ate here when it was called the Thai/Chine restaurant many years ago and though it became the Blue Elephant later, I still make the pilgrimage here when I find myself in Bangkok. The building is a stunning historic place and dining here has a slightly "colonial" feel. The service and food are effortless and enthusiastic and the staff... More

Tried to charge us for a dish we did not order. Service was just "so so". Overpriced. They tried to convince me that the beef I ate was lamb. Ate similar food at another touristy restaurant the next night at half the price.

Group dinner with colleagues, we ordered a Thai set for everyone so that we can tried a little bit of the most remarkable Thai dishes. Good choice and highly recommended!

During my stay in Bangkok I took a cooking class in the Blue Elephant. It started at 9:00 am. I met the chef in the restaurant and we took a subway to a street market some stations away. We saw, smelled and tasted the ingredients that we were going to use in the class. Back to the restaurant, we learned... More

Staying in Sathorn

Neighborhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
