L'Opera Italian Restaurant - Sukhumvit Last night, someone said they'd like Italian for dinner and someone recommended L'Opera Italian Restaurant, so three of us went. The food was wonderful and really well cooked, e.g., the pasta was al dente, the garlic and olive oil had lots of garlic and fresh-baked bread & rolls were served when we sat down. The... More

I have eaten here many times over the past 20 years but this was my first time for around 6 years. The service is very good but the portion sizes are small especially the rack of lamb which is advertised for 2 people but is smaller than many restaurants single dishes. At 1450 Baht ++ it was poor value. A... More

They opened in 1983 so they have been around for longer time then most Italian restaurants in Bangkok-for a good reason-the food is still outstanding! Today Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in Bangkok but the food served in L'opera still outclasses most of the competition. Quite far down on soi 39 in the intersection where you have to... Went twice to eat at Opera and twice I was impressed with the very high quality of food and service. Trota in carpione and ravioli with goose liver are just two dishes that stood out particularly for me. Wine list is also very good, along Italian wines also a very good selection of Spanish and South African. Definitely I shall... More

This restaurant really doesn't live up to its press. Suggested as a romantic, classy restaurant, I found it dingy, grubby and, lack lustre. The entrance is somewhat forbidding, the staff, while pleasant were not exactly dynamic and, the food was very mediocre. The wine was expensive and the choice - very limited. I went with high expectations of an upmarket... More

My family and I tried the L’Opera Italian Restaurant and were extremely surprised and impressed with this establishment. It is a very cozy well-appointed restaurant with the seating areas on two levels and a separate cocktail bar. The first review of the menu would suggest that the prices seem a little high however when our appraisers (of Italian cold cuts... More

The Mrs and I went for our friends B'day party on Saturday and was quite pleased to hear that the friend chose L'Opera as the venue because I hadn't visited the place recently. Well, everything as usual was perfect. The party was hosted professionally by the staff whom I believe were extremely curteous and accommodating. Marco, again served us with... More

I had problem to digest pizza. Probably we prepare pizza based before and it was not fresh. Also mozzarella was not authentic italian product.

This place has a decent atmosphere, but not much else. I know good true Italian food, and this is not it. The service also was marginal although the place was almost empty. I will not be back.
