Setting outstanding; service spot on; food very nice. We had a nice table by the river, with service at the right tempo. What makes this place is the setting, right by the river with views across the water to the Oriental and the skyscrapers beyond!

The restaurant is build in Thai village style, open air with tables just on waterline. Yes, at all the places of The Peninsula you are kept waiting until you get what you pre-booked and has been confirmed or, when you just want to pay for what you consumed. OK, once you swallowed this and reflect your stay, you recognize that... More

Food flavor was just okay. I expect better Thai food in Thailand at an expensive hotel with access to the best cooks. Service was great however and the view was beautiful.

Thiptara is quite ordinary thai food in the most amazing restaurant setting. With tables right on the riverbank you get to enjoy the full Bangkok skyline as well as the night traffic on the river while you eat. Food is good, but really nothing special and quite expencive. Go there to enjoy the setting, though.

Food quality: Food was served lukewarm instead of hot. Tom Yum Gong was more sour than hot and watered down. There is definitely better tasting food outside the hotel! I wouldn't come here for the food. Service: It was good but the restaurant felt understaffed. Lots of waving with no one noticing. Prices: Very reasonable for hotel prices. But when... More

If you want to enjoy very good Thai food on a terrace overlooking the chaopraya river, this is the place! The quality of the food is excellent, prices are very decent given the location, and the atmosphere is just perfect. We went there twice during our stay in the Peninsula and we enjoyed it so much!

Great Thai food at reasonable (for being in a 5 star hotel) prices. Views are incredible, and the food and service comparable. An absolute winning choice

By the riverside at the Peninsula they have a semi outdoor/semi indoor restaurant specialising in Thai food. The riverside tables for 2 are superb (as long as it does not rain). Portion size is generous more than you would get in the UK in a similar establishment. One main will easily feed 2 of you. Its not the cheapest place... More

Table booked wasn't given to us. Staff reaching over each of us to serve food and drinks, which given the prices for drinks and food should not be happening, menu quite short

We ate here one evening whilst staying at the Peninsula. We didn't have a reservation but the restaurant actually looked only half full so we managed to get a table right next to the river. Any closer and we would have been swimming! It's quite atmospheric as they have got the lighting just right and it makes for a nice... More
