An experience

Last year we stayed at the Pen for my wife's birthday.. What a fabulous place. We had a wonderful Thai dinner here with so much care and attention including signed photos from staff, birthday cakes and presents. It was wonderful. We go there every year now!

The setting outside, by the river is sure beautiful. The service is good and the food as well. We had the tasting menu and the kitchen was able to accommodate our need for garlic free dishes. A good sign that food is freshly made. The only drawback is the price tag. Ok, it's the Peninsula but but being in Bangkok... More

If you like sitting outside for dinner on the edge of the Chao Phraya River, this is the restaurant for you. It was authentic Thai food served in a charming setting. The waitress was really helpful and friendly and the whole experience was great. In particular, you should try the scallops which were exceptional. Really good value too!

One of the highlights of our visit to Bangkok was this restaurant. The gourmet food was prepared under the supervision of a master chef. Many separate and unique layers of taste in each dish. We were also treated to a duet of traditional Thai music by two accomplished musicians, creating and complimenting the delicious mood set by each course of... More

Authentic Thai food on the river. Excellent setting and smiley, helpful staff. Good quality food and service. Good selection of excellent wine. We thought the scallops and seabass were sensational and the ambiance was delightful. A good find!

The Thiptara is a lovely restaurant riverside at the Peninsula Hotel. Perfect for trying Thai favourites. Please make sure you let the staff know how spicy you like your dishes when you order. My favourite dish is their beef massaman curry. The ambience is relaxed but not a place for the rainy season. Service is excellent. They sometimes have live... More

The location is right on the banks of Chao Phraya river. It is a open air restaurant and amazing when the weather is nice. We ordered the Vegetarian dishes comprising of Tom Kha Veg Soup , Som Tam Salad, Thai Red Curry, Jasmine Rice and as a special order we asked for silken tofu with blackbean sauce which is not... Went here for dinner on our first night in Thailand. We weren't quite sure what was up or down due to jet lag, but we did have a lovely meal. I mentioned steamy as we didn't have reservations (seems like that is necessary even if you are a hotel guest) and so they seated us towards the back in their... More
