OSKAR BISTRO SUKHUMVIT SOI 11 Oskar is a casual bistro offering quality comfort food at great value for money. An ideal place to start a night on Sukhumvit 11 thanks to its clubby vibe.► THE BUZZ: Two houses down from Bed Supperclub, Oskar Bistro is a restaurant with a slightly clubby vibe. It certainly packs a lot of things under one roof: a hearty menu, a long list of cheap drinks and a live DJ spinning music that makes eating dinner feel like you’re swaying slowly on a dance floor.► THE DECOR: The vibe here is of a pub where you can actually bring your girlfriend on a date, with fuss-free decor and whitewashed walls. Our favorite part is the prominent bar in the middle of the room with its very bling’d-out Oskar sign that look likes it used to belong on the side of one of J-Lo’s handbags. There’s also a charming porch outdoors with lots of tables for two. Inside is a combination of proper sit down tables, by the DJ station, and some high tables by the bar.► THE FOOD: The predominantly French ownership behind Oskar means that some southern French dishes make their way onto the menu, alongside hearty American dishes and comfort food. ► THE CROWD: Mostly a pre-party crowd of farang and Thai groups and a few couples on dates. Things do get busy, though, and stay so throughout the night.

Good cocktails

Never try the food which was a pity. Cocktails are pretty good and much classier crowd compared to other bars and club in the area. Its adjacent to Citadines at Soi 11 and across from Levels. Don't miss this place out if you are ard the area. Major issue is the AC is not strong enough to keep... read more

This restaurant has received a lot of buzz around town lately so we thought we would give it a try. The interiors are well done and contribute to its social atmosphere which is probably why people like it and are talking about it. It does not hurt this place to be directly across the street from aLoft hotel a W... More

Oskar Bistro, located in the heart of bustling Soi 11, is one smicko joint. A well laid out up-market venue that attracts the younger hip expat crowd along with a splattering of old timers trying to live in the past. If you want to impress your partner or mates, then this is the place in Soi 11, along with Above... More

I've been visiting Oskar quite frequently now and their drinks, food and service has been consistently good, including K.Ping who always welcomes us warmly. Last night, on Friday with the missus started with a wine bottle, which the server suggested and was good, complementing the food we had. Starters which consisted of Salmon skewer and squid fritties that come with... More

Went there with my wife and daughter on a recommendation of a friend living in Bangkok. The restaurant was great. Delicious foods for all palates, attentive waitress. I will definitely go there again.

The food we ordered was very good, especially beef cheek... It was lush! However, served in the wrong plates! I am sure a lot of people would agree that Beef Bourguignon should be served in a plate with mash potatoes and swimming in red, lovely juicy sauce. But no, they decided to serve it in 2 separate tiny bowls???!!!! WHY?... More

Dear Katrina C., Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Oskar Bistro. Your comments regarding the quality of the food were greatly appreciated and passed on to the kitchen staff. Regarding the presentation of the beef cheeks, your point is debatable - some people prefer to have the sauce separately so they can dose the quantity... More

I found this place on tripadvisor, where else.... And I got rewarded: The Lamb Meatball Spaghetti was excellent! As was the tiramisu! This won't have been my last dinner at Oskar's😊

Last time, in December, French oysters were very nice.... Tonight I could not get in, there is a dress code that forbids open shoes. ... Street level restaurant in Sukhumvit soi 11!!!!!! Who do they think they are? Marshmallow Kitchen just in front: Much better welcome, same Fines de Claire #3 oysters, white wine just as good...

Dear Christophe P. We are sorry that our dress code was inconvenient for you. Please note that Oskar Bistro is a restaurant - our clients have over time expressed that they are not really comfortable dining next to people wearing overly casual outfits. It is not a question of who we think we are, we try and listen to our... More

I've been to Oskar many times. It's a small place with a nice vibe. The clientele tend to be fashionable. Mostly youngish well-dressed Thai women and white men in business casual, many of both coming as singles. The women are mostly middle class, educated types as opposed to the typical bar girls who abound in many of the less classy... More
