Arguably the best afternoon tea in Thailand. At approx 50 $ per head we expected our money's worth and we certainly didn't leave feeling disappointed. Firstly my suggestion to anyone wishing to experience high tea as the mandarin is to avoid lunch as going here on a full stomach would be unwise. The setting for the high tea is in... More

What a beautiful setting for afternoon tea! It is like stepping back in time! The service as always was excellent and the delicate sandwiches and cakes are so pretty you feel guilty eating them! For something different once you tire of all the wonderful spicy food Bangkok has to offer, this is truly a wonderful place to just sit back,... More

There are two things I always aim to do when in Bangkok, and this is one of them! Being an English expat from time to time and regularly travelling, high tea is a little joy and one I take regularly around the world. However, I would say that tea here at the M.O. is the best time and time again.... More

We called in to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel for a cup of tea from the famed Parisienne Mariage. We decided to indulge ourselves and have High Tea in The Authors' Lounge. Now, not all the dainty treats on the three-tiered platter were to our liking, but I'd expect that anywhere, and there was so much available on the first tier... More

We have paid 1, 350 bahts ++ for an afternoon tea in the lobby of The Oriental hotel (the usual place for the afternoon tea was under renovation)... totally disappointed. .. the scones were horrible (floury) and no re file for the tea I have ordered. The finger foods were ok but not "woua" as we could expect at The... More

For sure you wouldn't be disappointed by the decor in Mandarin Oriental. The hotel has free ferry to pick you up from the port and we were immediately impressed by the decor upon arriving. It does have good history and has very relaxing atmosphere. We booked 10 days earlier to ensure we could get a table because everyone says it's... More

Dripping with atmosphere, and the ultimate high tea. The lounge is often booked with wedding and engagement parties, so spaces are limited. It is the original section of the old Oriental Hotel, and it is easy to imagine early travelers in what was then the lobby. Not to be missed!

Nowhere in Bangkok can compete with Oriental for afternoon tea, simply the best. Obviously its not cheap but its worth every penny for a special afternoon with friends or family. I would go every day but would soon be bankrupt and very fat!

When we are in Bangkok we tend to keep an afternoon to go for a leisurely afternoon tea in the Authors' lounge. It's always very busy and never disappoint.
