Good, but pricey

Food was good, but the bill quite high. Food didn't meet the price. As we were so early we got good service and had no waiting time.

My last visit was in 2012. Forgot how amazing this restaurant really is. Great food, a brilliant venue and prices are incredibly good - mid range. Although only ate the once here in 2012 - have been back 3 times during this trip. It seems as though many of Bangkok's traditional eating locations have become 'westernised' - not Ban Chiang... Food was great service was perfect and the place is clean. It seems like there were no customers the moment you step in to the front of the house/restaurant but as you walk inside you will see customers/patrons outside and inside. Service was quick. Food are superb if you are out looking for an authentic Thai food adventure. Definitely coming... More

I first was introduced to Ban Chiang by a good business friend in 1990 and I still make it a regular meal when I am in Bangkok. Ban CHIANG is located in an old colonial THAI house and situated on a back street between Silom and Sathorn. Give the address to a taxi driver. You can sit inside or outside... More

We checked out this restaurant after doing a 'what's near' check on trip advisor. This is a great low key restaurant with prices like what you'd hope. Main meals were around $6 AUD, beer $4.50, cocktails around $8. The service staff were excellent, and the food was the best we had in Bangkok. The venue was a nice change of... More

Lovely location, walking distance from Silom hotels. Food was excellent, and well priced. Would certainly visit again when in Bangkok next time.

Close to the Eastin Grand hotel on a quiet side street. The diners were all westerners, as there is a hostel nearby. We ate on the patio, there is inside seating with AC if needed. Nice setting in an old building. The menu is typical Thai, flavored for Westerners. As it was our first night here, we weern't too adventurous. Nice... More

We just walked in this nice restaurant. It was a big surprise for us. Great food, good service and reasonable price(to be honest, little money). The flower on coconut is very pretty. ^_^ This nice place is your must visit in BKK.

Staying in Silom

Neighborhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
