Beacon of light in the jungle of hillary bars

It is not like the places on either side, which is good. Food is great, maybe even vegetarians can find something to satisfy their odd desires (i dont know what they eat) but at least for normal people they have everything done right. I must qualify my review by saying that I didn't try the food, I just went there for an afternoon pint. The bar is very small, with only a couple of tables and the bar where you could eat. That is not my main gripe, however. British pubs sell British beer, but the only beers on tap were Guinness (a... More

Sorry you were disappointed that we do not offer an English ale on tap. Where as we have previously sold English ales such as John Smiths and Tetley's, the required turnover has not been met. As you mention, we are a small pub, and English ales require a more rapid turnover than the lagers that we sell, or like "milk"... More

There are many places that claim to be a "British Pub" in Bangkok, but most fail to make the grade. The one thing that is generally lacking in them, along with all the so called Irish bars, is atmosphere, and that is where Chequers British Pub really scores. If the bar had a closed front and a log fire and... More

Great bar/resraurant along soi nana. Nick the owner always trys to please with your sporting requests. The food is top notch and reasonably priced. The a/c keeps you cool whilst watching the bkk nightlife pass by. And its the home of the bangkok branch of the Asian Canaries!!!

A smashing place to spend a few hours having a good clientele of ex pats and people holidaying..good range of local and European brews including Guinness and Stowford Press on tap. Food is a very good mix of Western and Thai and the best Brit breakfast in BKK...Staff have always been courtious and full of fun. Since I first discovered... More

Nice to find a decent British pub with a proper breakfast in soi 4. Their Full Monty @ 265 kept me going all day. Huge plate of what you would expect, including black pudding, toast and tea or coffee. Great service and nice to see a manager (Paul) helping his staff.

great toasted sandwiches, very cheap drinks, free wifi and good service. Only downside is breakfast not open until 9am but otherwise great.
