This was very much a last minute stop on my way back to the UK. I had one day in Bangkok and time for one restaurant to dine in. I needed a Thai food fix that was guaranteed not to disappoint and so the choice was a simple one…BoLan. We booked in for lunch and headed up to BoLans new... More

Place is expensive by Thai standard, the degustation menu has more than enough to fill us full. It's said to be authentic Thai which may not suit us too well as we have tried better and tastier Thai food (might be not too authentic) elsewhere. Atmosphere is quiet and rustic, posh too.

I was highly recommended by my friend to Bo.Lan for a birthday celebration which I was a bit disappointed with the food. Service was excellent but the food was way too spicy than what we can take where you lost the real taste of good Thai Food But the chef as very considerate and make special portion to cater for... I'm not sure why Bo Lan has not been rated higher by some individuals but the night 3 of us went here for dinner we received excellent service, tasty and imaginatively prepared Thai food, good drinks and wine, all within an elegant setting. For a dinner such as this I would not expect to be paying what I pay to... More

I really don't know what to think about this place ... what the hype is all about??? Maybe I am a simple man who rather have basic delicious food at reasonable prices. Hailed by the New York Times as " ... Bangkok’s first chic Thai restaurant with a focus on slow, sustainable, seasonal cooking.", this restaurant is owned & operated... More

I read the reviews over the year and thought myself and my wife would try it with an open mind. Firstly the service is terrible for a supposedly 5 star restaurant, the staff are inexperienced, too young and with a poor level of English, which you just can't afford to have and reading the reviews this has been going on... Coming to the place: Yes, that's mostly the best part of it. It looks charming and has a nice indoor seating and ambience. The service: It was funny that one of the waitresses was fluent in German but unfortunately I felt all the waiters there were "very junior". They neither haven't tried the food by themself, not they really could... More

We asked for the food spicy and we got it spicy. No complaints there. It was inventive and nicely presented, to a point, but I found there was a lot of repetition in the flavors. What I didn't like was amateurish service and the fairy plain surroundings. The building it was in was nice but the restaurant had more of... More

The set menu at Bo.lan is a great experience in new Thai food. The presentation of the food with explanations pointing out the fresh ingredients is a unique dining experience we enjoyed tremendously. Difficult to find the entrance but well worth the search (close to Sukhumvit). Don't go to the old location still listed in reviews, this is no longer... More

Bo.Lan has always been one of our favorite Bangkok restaurants, a place we especially liked to take guests, so we are sad to say our last two visits have been disappointing, especially the most recent where the nearly 100USD/person for the mini botanical (with two beers) was more than overpriced for the quality and preparation which was at best average...
