Pleasant, but too fussy

I've dined in Bo.lan before and it was better the first time. The food is certainly good and the service friendly and attentive. However I felt it was trying too hard and therefore became unnecessarily fussy at times. There is only a choice of 2 set menus in the evening, which is a little limiting... read more

My friend and I dined here last week and found it to be an incredible dining experience. There are two choices on the menu, both degustation. You can omit certain choices ie: no red meat, vegetarian etc. They are extremely happy to do so and you can select the degree of spicy that you're happy with. The meal was both... More

Nice restaurant : on the main floor - very modern and trendy. We were given a table on the lower floor, with all the other tourists. They served only fixed menues. We were asked how spicy we wanted the food to be - that could have been a nice gesture.. We were four persons; one wanted the food to be... More

I dine out a lot and this place is an absolute joke. 6000 baht for 2 people including 2 beers. Portions are small and you can find better Thai food on Khao San Rd. My Thai GF and I were very dissapointed and will never come here again. We actually ordered a pizza afterwards.

I can't believe how bad this over hyped restaurant was. Everything was terrible; the menu, the food, the service. I was so looking forward to going but never again. I was actually angry and this forced me to write this scathing review. So expensive and so bad, even my thai wife did not appreciate any of the northern thai cuisine.... More

I supposed I should have researched and read up on reviews before I went to Bo.lan but I had high expectations. Venue is beautiful, it's an old Thai house . Service is impeccable. Drinks were potent. Food was -- okay. Not great I wouldn't go back again. It isn't something you would crave. Plus I actually don't understand most of... More

I will try to keep this short since I consider writing this review as an extra waste of time and punishment incurred to me by Bo-Lan. If I had to describe this restaurant in one word, it would be: Fraud ! The restaurant is situated in a nice venue, a secluded and quite garden, away from the noisy city streets.... More

Service is very nice but it's probably to make up for the fact that 900baht lunch gives you essentially not much. They kept offering me more rice because I think they knew how ridiculous the portions are. Very stingy and not tasty either. The food was very average and the ingredients are poor, with lots of spices (ie, herbs that... More

I was disappointed enough in my meal at Bo.Lan to sign up for Trip Advisor and write this review to help those looking for an exceptional meal, to go elsewhere. This meal ranks in my top 3 disappointing meals in the 14 years of my professional culinary career. My fiance and her family (5 of us) came here seeking a... More
