First time visit for dinner last night because my wife wanted Pork Knuckle and the recent TA reviews of Bei Otto haven't been good. Overall the food was OK, without being great. The supposedly 1.2kg pork knuckle is almost big enough for 2 people but pricey at 520 baht. I also ordered a pork farmers' sausage for 260 baht. The... More

Food was great, though pricey. If your a hungry male in need of a large meal this is the place to come. Average price 300thb per meal. Drinks a little pricey too. service was great.

If you like wienerschnitzel and good German beer this is the place for you. Good, genuine food served by friendly staff accompanied by a variety of excellent German beer at affordable prices. What do you need more? It is a bit difficult to find as the address on the website is Goethe Road (because it is on the premises of... More

The Chiang Mai branch of this restaurant, in Moo Baan Tanawan 4, hasn't been opened very long but it is excellent! Maybe the best German restaurant here. Well worth a visit.

German style restaurant which would be a good place for a business lunch/dinner as it is quiet and intimate and the food quite good. Overdecorated with Germam paraphenalia, but not bad at all. Would go there gain.

I was there many times but admittedly this place serves only as the last resource for German meals. The atmosphere is nice with a rather exaggerating decoration, nice and fast service (even though the staff may sometimes forget to smile) The price is acceptable but the taste of the German food there is only "ok". What could probably beat the... More

Probably we made the error to choose thai dishes in a restaurant labeled as a deutsch but it was terrible. I eat everywhere also on road kiosque but this plates were really at the limit of eatable. P. S. The German beer and the atmosphere were good.

When you are in the Sathorn-Nam Duplee area, a visit to the Goethe Institute is a good idea. While you enjoy the German language classes and enjoy the greenery, consider a meal i the German Restaurant: The Ratsstube. We went for lunch on a Sunday and were not disappointed. We had known the restaurant back from the mid 90's and... More

I went there with my girlfriend last Sunday(26/5/13). The place was quite empty (only 2 tables, understandable for Sunday's late afternoon) then we order the famous fried pork knuckle with potatoes & sauerkraut which was truly a "2 thumbs up". The restaurant provided 2 sauces, the mustard and the spicy Thai sauce(the muddled chili). To go with the Pork knuckle,... More
