Great place for everyone, good breakfast - lunch and evening place to hang and have beers

Great place if you are in tourist area of Bangkok; I was staying at a Hostel near by and went to this cafe pretty much every day. Their prices are best in area, for a tourist place. It's not overprices, and they have something for everyone - from coffee, breakfast to Asian food, sandwiches and... read more

The Gecko is a good place to sit and enjoy a cocktail while people watching. The prices are inexpensive, but be prepared to wait a while to get served.

This is a great place. They have good hours, a cheap menu, pleasant staff who don't rush you, great free WiFi, and a wonderful atmosphere. One of the best in the vicinity for backpackers.

It has some charm as it feels like it was once a local bar which has now been taken over by those looking for some cheap eats and a beer at whatever-o-clock. Food coming out looked fine and our breakfast dishes were uncomplainable if a little average. I don't think the staff are uninterested and rude, they're just going about... More

Not much different from all the others on this road (maybe a bit dodgier as the other reviews have said but not much!) but it is a great place to people watch, either walking by or eating in the little restaurant across (great street food in there and cheap!).

Gecko bar is situated on a road filled with other bars and shopping stands, yet it remains quiet and relaxing. Time seems to stand still here. The service is really nice and efficient, obviously Thailand style, very laid back, staff chilling next to your table eating their food or smoking cigarettes when it's not busy, but I love this vibe,... Normally, I would probably rate this kind of place with only one or two stars. The staff are often rude and unfriendly. The food is mediocre. The place is grungy and unkempt. The seating is all out in the open (90% of which seems to always be positioned toward the adjacent soi, allowing clients to sit and people-watch). But, for... More

I fondly remember Gecko Bar from several years ago when I was travelling in South East Asia with a friend. We came to this restaurant several times whilst passing through Bangkok and always found the food good quality and reasonably priced, plus they do a delicious mango smoothy. OK the staff are not in your face friendly, but they are... More
