Good authentic Thai restaurant with a massive menu

Myself and 3 friends decided to try this place out for some good Thai food in a nice restaurant setting. We weren't disappointed! We each tried 4 different curries and everyone enjoyed their meal. You're talking about 120 THB + per meal but the service was good and they explained the dishes well... read more

Very, very nice food - especially when compared to the price paid. The restaurant had an intimate feeling to it. It is, however, a little had to find, as the restaurant name on the facade is only written in very small characters.

As I live and work in Bangkok, close to the street where Hemlock is located, I've eaten there with family and friends many times over the past several years. It was once one of my favorite restaurants, but becoming less attractive as time goes on. The atmosphere is always friendly, albeit sometimes quite crowded. Probably because the place is often... For the first night in town we followed the Lonely Planet suggestion and actually the cool atmosphere (inclunding a pianist playing nice jazz music), the good value-for-money and the decent food met our expectations. The food was not outstanding, neither bad anyway: the Pad Thai was not too bad actually. In the same street there are few nice bars for... More

Following the excellent review in the lonely planet, we chose the hemlock-restaurant. The menu is extensive and a lot of not-so-well-known food is on offer. We ordered Rad Na with seafood - what we got was not identifyable as seafood, so we prefered not to eat it. We also orderd a vegetarian dish with tofu which was good, but came... More

I am always rather sceptical when somewhere is recommended in a Lonely Planet guide but the food at Hemlock was truly superb. There is a really varied menu with some dishes I had never come across before - a proper foodies' treat.

Beginners can safely try everything on the extensive menu. Experienced Thai food lovers might want to ask for a little more spice. The place is listed in the Lonely planet guide, expect tourists not locals.

We dined at Hemlock on our first evening in Thailand based on a review in Lonely Planet. We were not disappointed! Everything we ordered was phenomenal - especially the Banana Flower Salad, which was my favourite dish from our entire trip in Thailand. If the restaurant appears to be busy, there is also upstairs seating - so just go in... More

I've eaten here many times since our first visit in 2002. Never been disappointed yet. I'm especially enthused about their very wide range of Thai-style salads; the banana flower salad, the wing bean salald, and the fried morning glory salad are particular favorites. Grilled kingfish is outstanding. I frequently order the excellent crab fried rice. You do defintely want to... More

I have eaten at the Hemlock on numerous trips to Thailand and it has always been one of my favourite spots to relax and escape the noise and heat. Until two years ago it was one of only two restaurants (the other is Ricki's) at that end of Pra Athit road, but now there are quite a few to choose... More
