I took my wife here for her birthday and we really enjoyed it. We showed up without reservations and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which was fine. One drawback, they don't sell wine by the glass, only full bottles. Definitely not traditional sushi, more fusion that you find in the US, which was fine by us,... More

I will eat at Isao twice a week with my friends. This place is very popular. If you plan on going, just spare like 20 mins waiting for your table. I always order their set lunch. It has the best deal. Hot or iced green tea for free, you get a salad, one side, main course, soup and fresh fruit.... More

There are thousands of Japanese restaurants in Bangkok. There are some offering really authentic Japanese food but Isao definitely NOT one of those. The food offered by Isao is more western style which consists more cooked food (less sushimi), more use of salad sauce, etc. Well, maybe I have a wrong expectation, I was a bit disappointed with the way... We went here as a special treat on our last night of a two month trip. The food was delicious! We shared a Sushi platter and a Sashimi platter. The fish was top quality and the flavours were delightful. This, plus two beers and Sake, came to around £40, which, for food of this quality, is a good price. The... More

After reading reviews about Isao, my family decided to give it a try during our trip to Bangkok in December 2014. We were so glad we went. The sushi were so tasty and creative. We were expecting some Japanese Chef preparing the sushi but lo and behold, we saw a team of 3 local Thai chefs. Need to applaud them... More

This place has many fusion sushi rolls, the type you can find in America. The fusion means containing special sauces in the rolls which are not shoyu, wasabi and mayonaise. The fusion also has cream cheese or tempura flakes. The rolls I recommend here are lava maki, sandwich and crunchy. They all are a must! The price per roll is... More

This place is located right at the beginning of Sukhumvit soi 31. The food really tastes good, however, not a right place for big groups or families and the seating is very tight. Sometimes, can be a long waiting line, so be prepared if you arrive just at the lunch or dinner time.

My husband and I came here 3 times we loved it so much! We never had a reservation, we just came early (around 6) to make sure we got a table. While you wait, you can sit on benches outside and look at the menu. We never waited more than 15 minutes. As for the complaints about waiting while there... More

Fresh sushi and sashimi at great prices! I reached at 1130am and the place was already full and I had to wait for about 15 minutes. Food was fantastic and when we finished our lunch, there was at least another 6-7 groups/couples waiting outside for their turn

Benches on the outside of the restaurant invite you not to lose your patience, wait, really, wait if you need because each minute once you have a table is worth the wait! Food is brilliant, but if you have the chance to observe the chefs preparing the roles, and the head Cheff commanding them... You are in for a treat!
