Isao's quality and exquisite-looking makis are to die for, for those travelling to BKK for a short relaxing trip. Situated behind S31 Hotel, this double storey Japanese Fusion Sushi Bar has won lots of awards over the years and lives up to expectations. Remember to make a reservation prior to heading down for lunch/dinner.

Isao has a few house specialties, which are Must-orders: - Sushi Sandwich - Jackie - Volcano Very tasty and reasonably good value. The restaurant is a bit difficult to locate, one needs to grab a cab to get there and not at temp taking the BTS!

This is a nice simple, little sushi restaurant in Bangkok. Obviously a favourite with Thais and expats alike, there was a queue outside when we arrived (always a good sign). We called ahead and couldn't get a table so just showed up and were seated at the sushi bar within less than 10 minutes. There was a sign that says... More

I stayed a week in Bangkok, and I came twice to ISAO as it probably was the best japanese/sushi restaurant I've been to in Bangkok, possibly in SE Asia too ! The place is rather small, but cosy and welcoming. I seated at the bar both times I came here. It's actually nice as you can watch the chefs making... More

We took our friends to the ever busy Isao for Saturday lunch. On arrival, we were greeted with about 30 hot faces waiting in the shade outside while very now and then a group of happy diners would exit with a decidedly satisfied smile on their faces. Yes the ques here are legendary, that is why reserving ahead is always... More

The food at this place is very fresh and service was quick, our friends had already made a reservation so we didn't need to wait to long, I personally liked their CRISPY, JACKIE and CATERPILLAR, not to miss place if you are a foodie and like to eat innovative food.

In the last months whenever I was passing in front of Isao there was a long queue of people waiting for a table: indeed a positive sign. Finally I decided to go for lunch with my wife. The food is excellent in quality, quantity and presentation. Remarkable the fact that the plates served are matching the pictures on the menu.... More
