3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2015 NEW

Was here during my Jan 2015 trip with family. My brother brought us to taste it as he mentioned this was their first outlet in Taipei. Xiao Long Bao tasted really nice but compared to the ones in Singapore, they are less juicier. The xiao cai also not as delicious as compared to Singapore's ones. Overall was a great experience... . Knowing Din Tai Fung from Singapore, I was keen to visit the original source in Taipei ... And nothing to complain about, since the system works fine at the place where it was invented, the waiting row is organised, the food is as good as it is in any of the other outlets, the service people are as busy... We went here because this is the original branch of DTF from which the other branches (amongst the HK ones) originated. I must say that the explanation, service and customer experience is much more enjoyable here. They take the time to explain everything (they could not know that we had been in the HK one before) and were very friendly,... More

What can you say? It's an institution. It's glorious food that you can't miss out on. Any trip to Taipei just needs to include this place. Nothing else needs to be said. Either the older one (my preference) or the Taipei 101 location will do

i have been to here so many times and they have best dumplings in Taipei. the pork dumpling with soya sauce and ginger juliennes is my favorite one, you need to wait in a long queue to be seated. the service is also quite nice but a bit pricey as compare to any other Chinese dumpling restaurant .

I've been to the LA branch in Glendale, and the one in Yugarden in Shanghai. I have to say that the best XLB I had is in this place. Just the level of how thin the dumpling wrappers are and the flavor of the meat they make is just great! Compared to their other location, this is also the cheapest... More

Walking around and got a lucky to have a late lunch here without wait. Good food, atmosphere casual and busy, very attentive staffs, fast serving. Considering numbers of guests they have, the service was rather brilliant. We had some appetizers, xiao long bao, fried rice. Bean sprout salad goes without any surprise. Standard xiao long bao, indeed good. Club xiao... More

A trip to Taipei must include a visit to the iconic Din Tai Fung. However in Taipei there are 3 branches. We decided to go to the original branch and we were not disappointed. Tip: come in a weekday after 1.30 pm to avoid massive queues. This particular branch is popular with locals and tourists so it always has people... More

I feel like I have been waiting for a dumping like that my whole life! The wait was not long at all and you can order ahead of time so as soon as you sit down you are served. The staff are incredibly pleasant and attentive always making sure you are happy. My boyfriend and I ate till we were... More

2hrs wait was worth it, good xiaolongbao -- tasty, good texture, well-made, delicious. other dishes were flawless too. mass-production atmosphere, not too cosy.
