Locals still love it... but getting pricier~

SERVICE is excellent, but makes you feel rushed as zillions of waiters/waitresses rush back & forth cleaning off your table. Still, lots of smiles greet customers. DUMPLINGS are excellent as usual. Juicy with thin skin that melts in your mouth, not in your ****s RICE/NOODLES: Always tasty... read more

My favourite dim sum restaurant - great range and great quality Service very friendly but expect to wait - no reservations so if you go at busy time get your ticket and go do something else to kill time

This place is worth waiting for but if you are like me, I will still try to avoid that part! Go just when they open and try a weekday. You'll have less time to wait or none at all like we did! Eat as many dumplings as you can and visit often!

Ding Tai Fung is one of our favourite restaurants in Sydney, so we were excited to eat in the restaurant that started it all. Luckily we were staying very close to the original, our hotel only a short walk near the Dongmen MRT station. The food and service was great as always, but with the added bonus of Taiwanese prices... This is a very popular resto and for good reason. It has been here many years and is the original Din Tai Fung which have branches worldwide now. At 13:00 there was a big line up so you take a number and if willing to share a table seating is in 10-15 minutes. Its not a big place but has... More

Supremely well organized and they flaunt it too, check out the peeps kneading your food into shapes behind glass, tasteful decorated, and ditto supreme service ("we're not in Kansas anymore") We were even approached by "floating interning visiting hostess", (not sure of her title) but who's job was nothing but to ensure we were pleased with everything and appeared to... Soup dumplings, soup dumplings, soup dumplings. The only thing to dislike is the long wait if you arrive 11:30 to 2, due to tour groups. But the restaurant handles the crowds very well, we were two people seated at a table for four in full rush, and the food is delicious.

Din Tai Fung has been one of my favorite restaurants since child, and Xinyi branch is the original one and also the only choice I would have for Din Tai Fung. Though some people might say there are other restaurants offer more valuable Long Bao. However, for my opinion, it's still the best ever Long Bao in Taiwan. Food is... More

Din Tai Fung is renowned for its xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and noodles. We visited the original store on Xinyi Road in Taipei - an authentic two storey restaurant with the glass window in which you can peer at the cooks making your dumplings. We highly recommend the pprk xiao long bao (TWD100/5 pieces) and the dan dan mien... More
