Din Tai Fung. This place is on the NY times Top Ten Restaurants of the World list and has Michelin stars , however we chose it on the recommendation of our neighbor Lian . She loves the dumplings so much she may make a pilgrimage to LA where they have a branch for a dumplings fix until she can back... More

Although some people like the modern space at the new Ding Tai Fung, my family has been eating at the original location for 30+ years. Not only is the food still excellent, the narrow building has been fully renovated and is clean and efficient. The attendants at the front door speak fluent Japanese and English (maybe some other languages as... More

If your in Taipei take advantage of this Michelin Star chain because its so cheap for what it is. The menu includes a whole host of different dumplings, noodles, and the best fried rice ive ever had in my life. The staff speak impeccable English and are extremely well trained and friendly. The ordering system is slightly confusing, before you... More

Even with a super long wait the food was everything we expected it to be. Can't miss the famous XiaoLongBao (dumplings with soup inside).

This original location lives up to its name - not a hype at all. Not only is the restaurant clean, its service is amazing!! I'd recommend trying all the xiaolongbao types (including the dessert ones!) and pork over friend rice. The only thing I would complain about is the wait - BUT if you go at a reasonable time you... Excellent place to come for a causal meal. Despite being warned of queues, the wait was not too long. Very good hospitality and delicious local food. Overall a great experience.

Tip: As soon as you arrive go to the counter to get a ticket with a number, basically you are getting in line. Don't line up behind anyone there. You are just wasting time, they have their number. The wait is long. You order in advance so take the time you are in line and go over the menu. We... More

As other people say, taste is good, inside is clean and safe, staffs can speak English, easy to access. But super expensive for dumplings... You can find tasty one at other place, like night market, with much cheaper price. And you have to be in huge line up, no waiting space, so crowded in front of the entrance. What's more,... More

I don't think there is a better dumpling anywhere... I love love love the veggie dumplings- I can eat about 30 at a sitting with a cold tall beer. The beef noodle soup is out of this world and the pork dumpling in broth is so awesome. Again, it is my first and last stop in TW and maybe a... More
