The local restaurant serves typical Nepali dishes. Nepali Thali set, Muton Kabab, Rajkhani, Choila are the one I like most here. Nice and fresh food with local taste. The Dal Bhat is nice. Fresh seasonable vegetable, snacks are really nice. Specially while we have friends gathering they can customize and prepare food as we wish. Nice place Highly Recommend

It was a while that I was looking for an affordable authentic Newari feast. Most were overpriced. in the middle of international Thamel, was a hidden gem, that offered just the right spread. They served lunch in a sturdy copper plate, that enhanced the taste of all that was on it. A wholesome spread of rice, veggies, spinach, chutneys, daal... More

A little out of the way but worth seeking out for authentic Nepali food, inexpensive and very quick. Ran into some Nepali acquaintances who were a little shocked we’d managed to find their favourite lunch spot. “Now everyone will come…” they complained. Recommend you do!

100% recommended, a local family restaurant in Thamel area, food is delicius here and the prices are very good. Free Wi Fi and TV. You do not see many tourist here, but for sure you see a lot of local eating here, so that one of the best index to choose this place. Try the Massala tea and Momos.

Local Nepali food was amazing - the veg fried rice was exceptionally good. Service was also great with nice ambience. Only reason for deducting one star was due to a boisterous crowd which came there as well which disturbed the peace.

Visited here several times while in Kathmandu as the prices are so reasonable compared to the rest of the restaurants around and the food is really good with good. Dal Baat is all you can eat. Also the lassi is vwey good. Serves various cuisines, drinks, and has a good friendly atmosphere, especially as you also see Nepali people eating... More

Our orders never came. No explanation, no apologies. There were around only 4 people with us and when i asked for the status of our order the staff just almost ignored us. Very indifferent, spoke to his colleague and with no amount of respect just watched the tv again. Very unrecommendable. We just left.

It been almost 8 years that I have been having the taste of real Nepali typical Dal Bhat in Himali Kitchen. Never ever have found any problems, always the same taste, same quality with fresh food and respectful owner and staffs, I bet - this is the only one best restaurant which gives you chance to taste typical Dal Bhat...
