The restaurant is considered an old favorite for many, but it seems that good business, it was for three days full of turists, leads sometimes to carelessness. Staff does not even pretend to be polite, but make all they can to be very slow. The momos were not as good as in two other restaurants which serve Tibetan food in... More

This place is located in the middle of Thamel. It serves decent Tibetan yet after reading all the 5/5 revievs on the forum I have to say it is a bit of a let down. Place has a very small selection of "traditional" dishes and instead most of the menu is full of western/chinese food which is not the reason... More

This is rather like a transport cafe in the UK, but seemed popular with the locals which is always a good sign. Some of our party were keen to try Yak momos, which were reported to be excellent although the hot beer was an acquired taste, and not acquired by us!

This a great value tibetan restaurant in the heart of Thamel. It closes later then the other ones in Thamel (everything closes pretty early in Kathmandu and this was the only restaurant in the midle of Thamel I could trust for a later dinner). Very simple and cosy athmosphere. Higly recommended!

I love to have Tongba (hot millet beer) here... they make it better than any other restaurant where I have had it. The buff chilly is great, as is the masala papad. The national soup.. Thukpa, is excellent here.. This restaurant offers booths and open seating at many tables, so it is larger than most local cafes. The service is... More

yak restaurant in thamel was once ok, now i no longer recommend..the service is cold, unfriendly, the food has dropped majorly on standard and value. The problem with nepal is they dont get motivated enough to spruce up the little things like to make the menus look nicer and CLEANER, which is important for a eatery. I ordered some indian dish... I loved the booths in here. We had momos and beer which was perfect. The staff are very sweet and the prices reasonable. Grea for an informal, intimate dinner.

The momos here were brilliant and the booths around the edge of the restaurant are great if you can get one. The staff were all smiles and the locals were having as good a time in there as any of the tourists. This was our last lot of momos before we left Nepal and it finished things off nicely for... More

This is a lovely family restaurant runned by a tibetan family. They propose one of the best value of set breakfast and nice momos dishes, every morning I felt in Tibet talking with Kunga, the owner, this is a lovely place to eat in Thamel

This is a very popular restaurant with the usual choice of dishes. The food is good, was very happy with momos and Thukpa. Service can be a bit slow but the food is clearly freshly prepared. Very good value for money.
