Best reataurant in Bhutan that I experienced

This restaurant is really something of a fusion restaurant. It was the only restaurant that I've eaten at in Bhutan where each dish had a distinctive flavor. The blend of east and west in both vegetarian and meat dishes was excellent. While I would not rate Zasa a five on an international scale... read more

My husband and I travelled in Bhutan for 9 days, and this was hands-down our best dinner. We ate the local Bhutanese meal (need to call and inform them before-hand). The dishes, as compared to other meals, were fab! Ambience wonderfully romantic and homely, and most importantly, the owner offered to drop us back to our hotel post dinner -... More

The place is difficult to find as there is no signage. It is right next to the Khang Residency hotel and looks just like someone's house. The place has great views, apple, peach and many other fruits and flower plants in their garden. Food is made fresh everyday to order. It is advisable to order ahead. We landed there for... More

Free WiFi and great value set lunch with eight dishes. Great if you're hungry wasteful if you're not but apparently all restaurant food waste in Thimphu is collected and fed to stray dogs at a kennel. Some seating outside too.

In all my years of coming to Bhutan and gorging on yummy bhutanese meals at various restaurants - this one stood out like a shining star. You have to make a reservation in advance and mention your meal preference. They will then fill up your table and your stomachs with delicious food - great portion sizes and variety offered on... It was obviously a good place, I came late for lunch and the food was not as fresh as you would expect. I would still go back and can higly recomend Za Sa

It is a bit hard to find. I was sceptical when we reached. But the food they serve up has an amazing flavour. Don't miss it. It is the best place in the city to catch a great meal.

The restaurant is hidden away behind a hotel but when you find it, it's all worth the search. They have a way of using traditional Bhutanese ingredients to make super flavorful and creative dishes. The one rule is, book ahead! You can also then tell the chef what you would like or tell them if you are vegetarian etc. The... More

We loved the food so much that during our 8 days visit in Bhutan we ate in Zasa twice, dinner and lunch the owner is a very creative Chef that takes organic Bhutan ingredients to create exotics Tasty dishes. If you plan to visit this restaurant make sure to make reservation a head of time because the restaurant is jam... More

Tricky to find because the building doesn't even have a sign. Its next door to the Khang Residency Hotel. They turned down the very loud music at our request and started bringing out plates of food. About 8 items. Sort of Asian, Indian Chinese. They gave us seconds on some platters we requested. Relatively expensive for Bhutan but not outrageous.... More
