Wonderful food, in a lovely setting. The chef is amazing - growing many of the ingredients in the garden around the museum, and great sourcing: working hard to get Bhutanese produce. Excellent vegetables and meat. Wonderful setting - relaxing and friendly.

There was nothing remarkable about this museum. It's just a part of the ready made tour of Timphu. It shows you how the Bhutanese used to live and what their house looked like

This is one of our favorite places to take our guests to try Bhutanese cuisine at its finest. There is a wide array of authentic Bhutanese dishes that gives a pretty good idea of what our cuisine is all about :) The ambiance and the hospitality adds to the whole experience :)

Beautiful surrounds, great authentic and well-prepared food. The interiors are traditional, yet this doesn't feel touristy at all: indeed, when I visited the other diners were all local Bhutanese. The food is traditional and there is a set menu - from memory it is a choice between vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Portions are large, and there are lots of dishes to... More

This place has a good standing with a reason. It is not very centrally located, but that doesn't mean much in Thimphu. It's situated in a lovely building with garden. The food is traditional Bhutanese and rather tasty. We were enjoying the food on the terrace outside - quite a nice experience. I didn't pay, but it seemed on the... More

A huge variety of traditional dishes and ingredients - that surprisingly was not dumb-ed down for tourists - except for the strength of the chili. Great flavors, really interesting dishes just wish we had more food like this on our trip.

Attached to the folk heritage museum, which is a 15 minute walk thru of a traditional Bhutanese home, the restaurant served some unique food that we did not have anywhere else in Bhutan. They serve two set meals for a very reasonable price. They also have a la carte and tea served with popped corn.

We went to the place based on the reviews and definitely loved the place. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The place is very beautifully decorated. The service was great with the hostess explaining the menu and answering questions on the authentic Bhutanese cuisine. We reached very late for lunch and yet they were gracious enough to serve lunch... More

We had an excellent meal comprising some 5 vegetarian and 3 non vegetarian dishes served with red rice. While the dishes on a stand-alone basis would not fit my qualification of haute cuisine, as a whole, they provided a good flavour of Bhutanese cuisine and were a good balance of texture, flavour, presentation and taste. More importantly while a couple... More

The museum has an old Bhutanese house with interesting artifacts. The whole museum visit won't take more than half an hour so I think it is worth a visit.
