A typical Bhutanese restaurant (for tourists)

In Bhutan, one is not recommended to go to "authentic" restaurants that Bhutanese people go to. Apparently only recognized "tourist" restaurants are recommended. Among those we went, this one was as good as others. The dishes were fairly good...although fairly typical. Usually steamed rice (usually... read more

Food was well prepared but a little plain. Service was good, everyone was very friendly. The different presentations of chillies make the dishes quite interesting.

Very good decoration, low table, good and typical food, I think that you must, almost once, go to this restaurant. But I think it is better to reserve before because it is not so big.

This was the worst of (frankly) some very bad food experiences in Bhutan. The system requires your guide to spend your "allowance", and you get taken to these places, where they could not care less. Even our hard-working guide said it was "not very good", and that was high insult from him.

We got off the plane, drove 1.5 hours from Paro airport and introduced to Bhutanese food at Bhutan Kitchen. I really didn't know what to expect. It was late so the food in the buffet line was not fresh or plentiful. I was disappointed.

We were part of a group eating at the restaurant and had the buffet for dinner. The options were minimal and although they were traditional Bhutanese fair, they were not that great. The restaurant overall provides a good ambiance and the staff was friendly.

Good local bhutanese food, wonderful view of the stadium, friendly staff, and traditional architectural design from the entrance itself.

Our guide brought us here for dinner and we enjoyed the food thoroughly. They probably had a buffet in the earlier part of the day (the food warmers were still there) but for dinner, it was a set menu/a la carte. We tried Bhutanese beer, had corn rice and an assortment of Bhutanese dishes. There was so much food! I... More

Just got back from a not so memorable dinner from 'Bhutan Kitchen'. Maybe this place worked for some, not for me. We enter this large nicely decored place at 7something pm. Just one more table occupied. This is a buffet restaurant, so was expecting a large spread. They just had 5 vessels put up. And not being heated, so at... More

Not impressed at all with the food and highly expensive considering the fare offered! The food was coldish, the service staff were unmotivated, the coke was flat ( an unforgivable sin in my opinion) and was realllly expensive. Seems like more a tour bus stop kind of place , not exactly a culinary experience.
