Once you are fed up with the buffet system that the travel arrangement normally offers you have the option to be in this coffee shop. They offer wonderful coffee.

Years ago I said my only complaint about Bhutan was that the coffee was bad. Then I discovered Ambient Cafe. Not only is the coffee excellent, but the friendliness of the owners, Letho and Junu and all the staff is terrific, the pastries and food (light meals, snacks) great and the vibe is one many a cafe would want to... Ambience was good but food, especially the Bhutanese Spaghetti was not up to the mark. Expensive too. WiFi was very fast.

if you want to have decent coffee and some snacks , this is the perfect place as star bucks or barista dosent exist in bhutan. i liked pakodas over there and cappuchino was perfect.

I went to the Ambient Cafe with a lot of expectations after having gone through various reviews. Unfortunately I found it to be over hyped - there is nothing really outstanding about the place. True, you get a view of the main road and get sandwiches, but the stuff is just about ok.

This café offers very good coffee and hot chocolate as well as cakes. Wi-fi connection is good and many foreigners are customers. Nice place.

Having just spent four days trekking, we were desperate for coffee. Our experience of coffee in Bhutan up to that point had been that the coffee was generally flavored water served with way too much milk. Walking through the hustle and bustle of Thimphu, our guide introduced us to this coffee shop. Not only was my husband's devilish chocolate cake... More

Good coffee and average rating is unfair but accurate as compared to other places in the world, so really it's excellent for Bhutan. Great service and great coffee.

Food is good, service and coffee are excellent. Most well known for coffee. Owners are very friendly . It's a well known expat place, free wifi. Prices are high for Bhutan, but reasonable for expat prices. Good location right downtown. Well known as a meeting place for expats.
