Could not recommend this place more. Great cafe, lively ,warm and inviting, and great food to boot. I am very glad I found this place after 4-5 mediocre meals in Bhutan . It's not Bhutanese food, but is delish nonetheless .

Good coffee, good western style café food like sandwiches and great free wifi. Service was great too. A favourite of many western tourists. Central location. The Nepali Thali set meal was great!

Great unexpected cafe in the middle of Thimpu. Typically an expat hangout. Good selection of cafe food: Sandwiches, wraps, cakes and coffee. Worth a visit

A cafe that allows for conversation, food and a good moment to enjoy the center of Thimpu. Meeting such a variety of travelers is interesting and informative

You can feel at ease and enjoy surfing through mails over a cup of coffee. The Ambient Cafe provides free wi-fi and their service is excellent. This is a place where westerners can enjoy modern facilities in Thimphu

Highly overated place in centre of town. Went for lunch on a busy day and the experience was less than satisfactory. Half the items on the menu were not available, wifi not working, no ac on a hot afternoon, no ice either. To top it all the place was infested with flies. Never again. Highly recommend the Zone as a... More

Respected Sir, Thanks so much for your valuable review. We appreciate the feedback. Anyway, first of all, we would like to apologize that our café did not meet your expectations. On the day you visited, we were especially busy and also were experiencing problems with our water supply, which, in turn, caused our ice making machine to malfunction. Furthermore, we... More

The selection of various Teas is amazing. Pleasant and friendly owners. Good choice of snacks and sandwiches. Their Ginger Lemon Tea and Lavender Tea is my all time favorite. Free wifi and lovely place to chill.

Still one of the best cafes in the capital, the quaint little place is almost always packed. A popular hangout, especially for the expats (lovingly referred to as "chilips"), the place is purely vegetarian and makes great wraps and sandwiches. Order their rice platter (rice, lentils, salad) if you are in the mood for something heavy :)

At the end of my first day of touring in Bhutan, I asked my guide if we could stop at the Ambient Cafe as it said it was frequented by ex-pats and foreigners. It was a very nice little cafe with a pleasant view and atmosphere. They had a chrysanthemum tea (which is one of my favs) and I also... More

Ambient Café is a great place just to hang out in Thimphu where you will find a complete mix of tourists and locals. The coffee is really good and they do a decent pastry as well. It has a great atmosphere and you could easily find yourself just chilling and chatting for a couple of hours.
