Excellent thali menu on Fridays, which is great with a group of friends. Authentic feel means that it is poorly lit with old furniture, but feels clean enough and the food tastes great and comes at a bargain price.

This restaurant was very clean and had lovely food. As usual the staff were very obliging. The owner was keen to talk about Australia and knew some of the cities here. Great experience.

In general everyday the food is good. BUT...... on fridays they do Thali, Nepali set plates, and it's pretty freaking good. Tasty and not expensive, what more can you ask for! You'll thank me later... though if you have too much pickeled radish with the meal then you may be hurting the next day and no longer thank me :)

On Friday this place it's full of locals and you can enjoy the special Nepal dishes. It’s real authentic (as you will probably be the only tourist in a place that is full of people) and the food is superb.

Great Nepali food. The food here is always fresh and interesting. The owners are incredibly nice and friendly. The Thali on Friday nights is especially good and has a lot of variety. Dishes off the menu are excellent as well. This place is often full and the reason is not a mystery.

Don't be afraid of the dark hallway to get to this place. I lived in Thimphu for one year and this place ranked as one of our favorite go-to places. The kitchen is very clean and the food is always delicious. It is good for Indian, Nepali and Thali on Fridays. yummy Masala Tea, Paneer, curries and Bhutanese dishes too.... More

Cypress is known for its excellent Nepali thali lunches, which are served on Fridays only. The a la carte items are terrific. While most other restaurants around town look like ghost rooms, this one is often fully-packed - and for a good reason. You get fresh, tasty, consistent dishes which are prepared with love - a sharp contrast to the... More

I love Cypress Hotel. The Bhutanese food here is excellent. The dishes are usually accompanied by several side dishes; dal, a small dish of sliced lime, onion and chilli, chapati, and spicy pickles. The owners are very warm and always make you feel welcome. Their Indian dishes are great and everything is always well prepared.

This restaurant serves typical Nepali cuisines. This is one of the best of its kind and very popular with the local Nepali food lovers. They have a dish called "nepali thali" served on Fridays. For foreigners the dishes might be bit spicy if not informed before. Its a cozy little restaurant worth trying for a different dish.
