Hearty and tasteful food

Chez Loutcha in 101, Rue Mousse Diop, is totally crowded around lunchtime, and then around dinner time. Food is senegalese-eudopean-cape verdian, and even if crossover food sometimes does not hit, these people know how to do it. During a weekend in Dakar we tried different dishes (NOTE: the place... read more

This is a busy restaurant with a large menu and very reasonably priced. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. Would like to go there again. Go very casual.

The first Senegalese restaurant I've found in Dakar with vegetarian items on the menu. The food was decent, service good. I'd go again.

I went to Loutcha last night for dinner alone. It is a spacious place with quite a few rooms for dining spaces and atmosphere is very local and enjoyable too. Their menu is very elaborate and has a good mix of cape verdian, senegalese and other west african varieties. The restaurant seems crowded too. It seems for the lunch ,... More

I am well positioned to speak and provide adequate reviews about Chez Loutcha as an Enterprise, as well as explaining what most of the customers miss in the reviews about its services: speed, quality and price. I’ve known Chez Loutcha for more than 30 years, and have witness the generational customers who are loyal to the family business, and the... More

A reliable standby for good Senegalese food in central Dakar. At least a 20-page menu and they seem to actually have most of it!

We (a big group of 10 people) recently had dinner at Chez Loutcha. I came to the restaurant starving and to my surprise, the restaurant owner made sure I got my food within ten minutes and before everyone else. Speaking from experience, Africa is not always that fast. The restaurant has a huge selection of Senegalese and Cabo Verdian dishes... More

We pulled in here on a port visit and everyone kept saying "you have to go to Chez Loutcha!" We were not disappointed. Great atmosphere and great food. The local cuisine was on display and in force and flavors were fantastic. If I could give 4.5 instead of 4 stars, I would. The only downside was its age and decor.... More

I go to Loutcha any time I travel to Dakar to get my Yassa fix, that delicious caramelized onion and mustard sauce dish that's a Senegalese classic. Typically it's served with chicken but at Loutcha they do a fantastic veg version with huge chunks of root vegetables, like carrot, yam, radish, and potato. A bit pricy, yes, but the serving...
