Good lunch

I was at Le Lodge recently for a conference. The second day included lunch and it was well worth the wait. The three-course meal was excellent, quick, and well-served. I'll go back for lunch if I have a chance.

We ate at Le Lodge and enjoyed it so much that we came back and ate there again a week later. Here are the very nice features: An excellent value fixed price menu. Really quality food, especially the spectacular desserts. Attentive and very friendly owner and staff. All things considered, I will go back there again next time I'm in... More

Small almost B&B atmosphere. Backyard is troical and lush. Bird bath attracts beautiful assortment. Rooms comfortable. AC, ensuite bathroom with shower, no tub. Breakfast in breakfast area is light and cheery. Brrreakfast is continenatal with juice, fresh fruit, croissants, bread, and coffee. Simple but adequate. Art all over the place, most for sale. Native art store next door. Convenient, safe... More

I ordered food from this restaurant several times while at the lodge. The food is good, light choices such as salads are available and prices at fair.

I love the 3 course french "table d'hôte" - it permits me to eat like a king which I would not often do if ordering courses separately. The three course menu offers around 6 options each for appetizer, main course, and dessert for 9500 (update - previously this was 8500). I had the crustiante de chèvre (goat cheese salad) and... Apparently the chef has changed so the great reputation the restaurant had is outdated! The staff were great and very nice, but the food was not good at all, with a tiny portion for me and a huge one for my friend! I recommend waiting for a new chef before going there.

I love the Lodge for business lunches. It's quite formal and benefits from well spaced tables a point which is always appreciated by business folk over a lunch or dinner. The food is pukka French cuisine which you can select from an extensive menu and there's a decent wine-list, too. Polite discreet service.

We arrived early in the evening and did not need a reservation. The wait staff were formal, but efficient. Due to the early hour, we dined all alone and this dampened what social ambiance there might have existed at other hours. This is not a place to go if you want to hang out with your mates, drinking beer and... More

We went on a busy Saturday night, a group of 3 which evolved in a group of 11 guests. The owner Christine was very accommodating despite the already crowded restaurant. You better book ahead! Christine's husband being French, the quality is not neglected in their kitchen! Fresh carpaccio and steak tartare. A table d'hôte at 8,500 CFA is offered (3-course... More

Although a short stay in Dakar, this restaurant was definitely a favorite. The beef filet, with both the cheese and pepper sauce (9,500 CFA), was excellent and came with some very tasty potatoes au gratin. Definitely save room for desert as well. A must try for anyone staying at the Fleur de Lys (located two buildings down) and definitely worth... More
