Ranked #21 of 98 restaurants in Dakar
Cuisines: African, French, Seafood, Tapas
Dining options: Reservations, Late Night
Description: I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We stopped in for lunch on the recommendation of our hotel and were charmed by the decor and the location of the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and put us at a table overlooking the ocean and a small private beach (very very clean !!). The food, fresh seafood tagliatelle for me and the grilled steak for my husband, was delicious. We enjoyed the restaurant so much, food and ambiance, that we decided to return the next night for dinner. This was even better if possible. Ocean view, moonlight and waves crashing on the beach, with a wonderful "chicken Yasa" and grilled fish was more than we could have asked for. Then it got better as the manager "Alpha" suggested we have our final drinks on the beach. No better way to end our vacation than sitting on a moonlit beach sipping drinks. When we return to Dakar the restaurant Ngor will definitely be a stop and we would recommend to anyone who likes great food and ambiance !!! Bon Voyage

Fresh seafood in a beautiful setting directly at the beach. Not cheap but well worth its price.........

This is a really beautiful place to come for a drink or dinner. You are literally sitting on the seashore and have great views up and down the coast. Perhaps a little bit of an expat haunt, but not necessarily the worse for it.

This is the ultimate venue for a late afternoon drink and a few tapas after work as you watch the sun descend over the Atlantic and listen to the waves crashing on the beach below you. It's situated very near to the Pointe des Almadies - just round the corner from the USA Embassy on a private beachfront and mini-cliff.... More

Enjoyed the shrimp curry along with the ocean sounds of the mighty Atlantic. This restaurant is worth the trip. Great staff and wonderful ambiance.

I've been to this restaurant three times this month so I think a thorough review is fair game. The food is predictably good and regularly the same taste (unlike many other restaurants in the area) and the view can't be beat. Prices are the same as everywhere else.

The NGor is a very quaint restaurant by the ocean. There are different levels of seating but the ocean view is the best. The restaurant is known for its exotic birds that roam freely. The menu features a special and many selections of appetizers, entrees and sides. It is usually the first choice to take first time visitors to Dakar.

The food was ok but the location and view was stunning. It is better to visit in the evening for drinks.

I was here for drinks at sunset and returned the next day with my family for dinner. The upper level of the restaurant overlooks the ocean. The view was fantastic. The service was reasonable and the drink prices were reasonable for the location. Dinner service was much slower, but I think that had more to do with a small kitchen.... More

This place is a riot. Eating grilled fish with a spectacular view of the ocean. Great for lunch. An easy and tranquil walk from King Fahd Palace or the US Embassy. Well worth the trip. They do seafood really well. I love the motley flock of birds wandering around and the interesting art scattered about.
