I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We stopped in for lunch on the recommendation of our hotel and were charmed by the decor and the location of the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and put us at a table overlooking the ocean and a small private beach (very very clean !!). The food, fresh seafood tagliatelle for me and the grilled steak for my husband, was delicious. We enjoyed the restaurant so much, food and ambiance, that we decided to return the next night for dinner. This was even better if possible. Ocean view, moonlight and waves crashing on the beach, with a wonderful "chicken Yasa" and grilled fish was more than we could have asked for. Then it got better as the manager "Alpha" suggested we have our final drinks on the beach. No better way to end our vacation than sitting on a moonlit beach sipping drinks. When we return to Dakar the restaurant Ngor will definitely be a stop and we would recommend to anyone who likes great food and ambiance !!! Bon Voyage

Dining on the beach

This is a bungalow on the coast, the waves crash as you drink and eat, food is hot and fresh, staff is low-key but quick to respond. No fancy clothes in fact bring your flip flops if you want to dip your feet in the surf. Worth the visit. Located near the U.S. Embassy

An unforgettable experience- dinner by the waves. You would be foolish not to pick the fish! Start your Meal with the shrimp cocktail, you will not be disappointed! Perfect for a romantic/ secluded meal as tables are spread apart and service is subtly seamless! When trying to find the restaurant, tell taxi drivers to head for the American embassy! It... More

Just had dinner here at Le Ngor. Had shrimp with sesame and ginger was very tasty (7000). Friends had the gampas (big prawns) and they looked amazing will be trying then next time. They have whole grilled fish as well. Beef,Chicken and fish burgers and a nice cocktail selection. The best thing about the restaurant was definitely the view. Amazing... More

one of my favorites in dakar. very relaxed. the seafood platter and crevettes au miel are lovely. their appetizers could be improved, but otherwise their main dishes are really fantastic. ambiance very relaxed, on the water so stays cooler than other spots. during day when tide is low you can also lay out on the small beach. they have opened... What I really like about this restaurant is the view. It's so soothing and beautiful. The furnitures are a bit dated but all in all it's a nice romantic cute place. Food is average to good depending on what you get, it's all still very much worth it. I'd go back just for the setting. Again and again.

N'gor is a very pretty restaurant -- the artistic building and the view by the sea makes it worth a visit, especially when you want to impress a visitor. The food was fresh and tasty, although not phenomenal. Price is reasonable. I recommend going to this place at least once to see the great job they did on the decoration.

Food is good, and you can paddle in the ocean while you wait. Go in the evening to catch spectacular sunsets on the water. Waitstaff is good.

A short walk from the Route des Almadies, this is a small treasure! Beautifully and simply decorated with small seashells attached to every part of this building, it overlooks the Atlantic. The seafood, especially the shrimp are the best!

Come often enough, and you notice that each experience at Le Petit Ngor is as unpredictable as the pieces you'll find in the resident artist's objet trouvé courtyard. If you're in a hurry to be served, come with the early lunch crowd, and avoid weekends when families brunch while their children play on the beach. Service tends to be more... More
