Downtown Dakar can be busy, noisy, and dusty. For lunch, La Fourchette is quiet, peaceful, and has air conditionning. Their 3-course lunch menu is expensive for senegalese standards, but it does not disappoint with top quality ingredients. La Fourchette is an excellent restaurant, with consistent quality of ingredients, and I try to eat there at least once when I travel... More

so welcoming staff, food is very good with very good ingredient the menu is very diverse (a bit too much) as it goes from sushis to enchiladas to gnoccis... But all is matered and very well done! The ambience is also very good, the restaurant turns into a bar around 11.30pm and i think it's a nice concept which always... More

Pricey, crowded in the nights. It is a kinda restaurant that turns into a bar at night. Very smoky as people constantly smoke there. Very pretentious place.

I have to say I am quite a good cook. So when I pay money for food I really want something extremely good. I have stopped going to most restaurants in Dakar, but I always return to La Fourchette. There is a wide range of cuisine from around the world. I have been there several times and the menu changes... More

Great decor and vibe amidst the chaotic streets of dakar. Good menu. Good food. Good service. Not cheap. Around fifty Eur for two. A good option if staying at the Novotel or Ibis which are very near.

This is clearly a favorite with the well heeled. Wine and excellent starters together with a corner table and good company made our evening. Expensive- but perfect for a taste of Dakars chic dining.

It's not excellent at all, at least for people who travelled a bit. We ate couscus and seafood plus tagliatelle with chicken in cream, pasta was overcooked and chicken was not at all. Small sweet as a dessert. Let say i didn't try the normal menu, coz it was the dinner at 15,00 USD but nothing was excellent. Very good... More

Confession: I am a chocaholic so my standards for wine may be low, but those for chocolat are extremely high, thank you very much. We went to La Fourchette with girlfriends on a Thursday night to catch up and have dessert. We left, three hours later, sweaty, content and still dancing. We had a blast! We walked in to a... More

Fish is a mainstay in Senegal and abounds everywherer. That being said the fish I had which was a special of the house was way overdone and has gobs of overly sweetened canned red pepper sauce. Fish needds a delicate touch and simpler is better. Frankly just couldnt eat it. Muisc was excellent
