A bubble of peace for lunch in Dakar's busy downtown

Downtown Dakar can be busy, noisy, and dusty. For lunch, La Fourchette is quiet, peaceful, and has air conditionning. Their 3-course lunch menu is expensive for senegalese standards, but it does not disappoint with top quality ingredients. La Fourchette is an excellent restaurant, with... read more

Honestly, I have tried alot of restaurants, specially in Dakar. I can honestly say it's amazing. Food is BRILLIANT. I do have to say that on thursdays, there is a band playing and its not necessarly the best time to be there - there is alot of noise and people and it can get unpleaseant - however, food is always... The one thing that strikes you as you enter the restaurant is the ambience and organization of the place. The staff were very helpful too. It was easy to see that the staff were well trained and attentive. The place seemed more suited for formal meetings and its location justified this. The major grouse is that the food was certainly... The restaurant is on a dark, rather unprepossessing street but the inside is a complete contrast to the area outside. The place is smart, glamorous even. The staff friendly. The food was excellent, indeed some of the best I have had in a while. The experience was only spoilt by the other diner smoking away throughout the meal. It is... More

I had a dinner with a friend at la Fourchette and I dare say I was blown away! The waiter who attended to us was a nice young lady who speaks 5 languages with a great smile; the food was awesome without a long waiting time. The interior is really nice, cool and cosy and makes you feel at home... More

I was extremely impressed by my trip to la Fourchette today. I have very strict dietary restrictions right now and figured I just wouldn't eat at this lunch event for a friend. La Fourchette went out of their way to find something I could eat and made it for me. It was not on the menu.. They just wanted me... More

Whether on Business , with Friends or Solo it is a very good place to go if your are looking for good fusion food, Ambiance music and a nice crowd. On most thursdays night there is a live band and on the other night a talented disc jokey. The clientele is a mixture of Europeans , Lebanese and locals .(owners... More

Pricey, crowded in the nights. It is a kinda restaurant that turns into a bar at night. Very smoky as people constantly smoke there. Very pretentious place.
