The food was really good. I shared with my date and we had lots to take home. The naan was amazing and I loved loved loved their fruity alcoholic drink. Can't remember the name but if you like sweet cocktails with a twist, definitely order it. The prices were reasonable for Abuja.

Very good Indian food, very reasonable prices for such an expensive city. Service is generally very good. It is clean. It is in a relatively secure area with reasonably good security, but have your driver wait for you. Patrons are a mix of mostly locals but a significant number of foreign business people. Take into account that the air conditioning... More

Capital cities never have good food, and Abuja is a like any capital city, except maybe for Wakkis. The kitchen is open for all to see, and the Naan (this is an Indian Restaurant) is as good as anywhere. Figure about $14 or Naira 2,600 for a Chicken Tikka Masala and Naira 750 for a 16 oz Heineken. I got... More

Wakkis has cuisine form all over India - including Southern coastal sweethearts Goa and Kerala - but mainly focusing on blander North Indian fare. Wakkis is a hit with indigenous Nigerians who have had a taste of Indian cuisine due to the high number of Indian expatriates who have called Nigeria home. Resident and visiting Westerners also patronise the restaurant.... More

I am an Indian and whenever I am in Abuja I always eat at Wakkis since last 6 years. I always found the quality at par with any best Indian restaurant anywhere if not better. Yesterday too I had my lunch between 3:20 to 4:30 pm with a Nigerian friend. I placed the order in advance over phone knowing that... More

Good food. being a vegetarian(Vegan) i had very less options of restaurants to be at during my few months stay in Abuja in 2011. i was switching between wakkis restaurant and spice restaurant every alternate days. as there were no much options available. very helpful and friendly cook and staff. he could cater for my dietary requirements as requested. the... My friends and I ate at Wakkis 5 days straight during a recent trip to Abuja. The food was excellent. The food was freshly prepared over an open charcoal pit that was visible to everyone. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked every time. The vegetarian dishes were excellent. The bread(s) were all hot and fresh. Security is present outside... More

Good food, ambience, reasonably priced ( compared to Nigeria ). Good place to take out guests and business associates. Centrally located. Sometimes, it is full and hence you should be prepared to wait a bit.

Well wakkis has some amazing food and this too in Abuja where one is hard pressed to find anything better than Suya or Shawarma as the eating out culture is non-existent. But be prepared that you are not going to find genuine Indian food but rather Africanised Indian food which is still very nice. Also this is one of the... More
