Great welcome and nice new decorated restaurant. But food is average Fried noodles too dark (exces of soya sauce) Order a beef course: and there were more vegetables (i mean onions and red/green pepper instead of meat itself) Drinks too expensive 4*times the retail price. Its just a restaurant not a 5*hotel in town.

Seems like where ever you go to eat in Mauritius the food is always over cooked, the same was here as well. Fish foods over cooked, Chicken rubbery, best thing was the special rice.

I fly back home every year and I have to say that Grand Canton is always on the top of my check list. When I'm there it just feels like home again. The owners are very welcoming and the atmosphere very warm. I love their steamed fish and I can confirm that they do use fresh caught fish. Also their... More

This is a typical Cantonese restaurant, could have been anywhere in world. The food was good but nothing special, pick of our dishes was Peking duck and the accompanying soup, crispy pork was at least crispy but very fatty, salt and pepper prawns, vegetables and rice all standard issue. The wine list very limited but well priced. Worth a visit... More

We just went there 30 mins before closing. But, they welcomed us and served very nice dishes without complaining. We wanted to take steamed fish. However, it was out of stock... Maybe next time!

Really disapointed with the honey pork, which was a bad joke. Got a pork chasive with a little honey cup .

The restaurant is very clean and well looked after. The service was quick and the food good. The wine list was a bit limited. The food was a little bland for me though. We were in a group of 5 and squeezed onto a small table, they could have offered a larger table. All the food arrived together not allowing... More

Having read the reviews of Grand Canton, and previously eaten many many times at the sister restaurant Cafe Canton which is just around the corner, I had reasonable expectations of good dim sum. Unfortunately, I found the dim sum selection very limited and everything we ordered was all a bit ordinary in taste. Some dishes were tepid on arrival and... More
