First of all, we can all agree that the view is absolutely amazing and that the service is friendly as well. We were also rather happy with the starters (crab dish and red tuna carpaccio) as well as with the desserts (ice cream and Tiramisu). However, the main courses were a disaster. Whereas the chicken & prawn curry was seriously... More

The restaurant is in the middle of no where on top of a ridge so you really have to want t oget here but it si worth the trek. The food was very good, the service was attentive and the views were gorgeous. We were part of a large group and the uniform view was that the meal was a... More

Chamarel is a tourist restaurant and while it has some of the best scenic views on the l'il Maurice, unfortunately the quality of the food lets it down - particularly at the price! I suppose if paying in dollars, pounds or euros it is probably not expensive. In the off-season though it has to rely on local trade mostly and... More

Outdoor dining overloog the coastline, the food was great and the service was responsive. I enjoyed a great flank steak and the rest of my group sampled the chicken, boar, and duck. All were delicious. Close to the Chamarel Rum Distillery, so it pairs well for a day trip to see the falls and 7 colors after lunch here.

You must have lunch here if you come to Mauritius ( Closed at night I think). The view is unbelievable. The food is great and very affordable and the service is good. Even the drive to get there is superb. I strongly recommend (from an expat who lives here).

When exploring the south of the island/Riviere Noire area, make sure to stop here for lunch. The panoramic view of the coastline and mountains will make your jaw drop. The food is good, but not great. The view and attentive service makes up for any deficiencies in food flavor/presentation.

We were not planning on stopping on the route, but saw the restaurant and stopped to have a look and a coffee. It was lunchtime and they did not mind that we just wanted a coffee and looked after us very well. The views are really very good, so is the service. The menu looked good and quality looked good...
