I went there at lunch on a week day. Service ok.... but I didn't enjoy the food. I had a Beef tournedos with girolle (mushroom) sauce. Sauce was very disappointing... tasteless.... As a side dish I had a green salad... which didn't look/taste great either.... Sad.... i remember "la Boussole" being one of the best place to go when I... More

I decided to give La Boussole a second chance , unfortunately they missed that time too . I shall NOT get back there , it is just another average restaurant even if in a great location and a nice restaurant- when time arrives to feed your stomach it is not a celebration . Service is not really good and food... More

While La Boussole is a beautiful restaurant , I have doubts about returning there . The waitress did NOT know how and what to recommend , the meal was barely average and dessert was bad. Price level is on the up side .... so there is not a real reason to return there unless for the sight itself ....

We were appalled by poor quality of mojito (next to the worst one we ever tried all around the globe) and warm wine, the bartender (or bartendress?) must be on probation or part-time. The meal was pricey - expect to pay more than anywhere else with probably the exception of La Varange, but excellent. Quail with raisins and zebu in... More

One of the few places open on New Years Eve. The food is pretty good, typical french style. The atmosphere is nice.

Maybe it was our fault for going to a french bistro and ordering seafood at 1600meters of altitude but the seafood we had at la boussole (Seafood Choucroutte & Grilled Fish) was very poor. Frozen, chewy, cold. We should have stuck to Zebu and Foie Gras!

We had a lovely lunch on a sunday with 9 people and the service was great. The food was fantastic. The desserts were especially good and i really enjoyed the creme brulee.

The best meal of our trip to Madagascar. The environment is nice if nothing particularly notable, a well-appointed little art cafe. The food was spectacular! Cannot recommend highly enough to you the ravioli au foie gras - a wonderful blend of texture and flavor perfectly complemented with toast. This was my first foray into eating zebu - the tournedos cooked... More

We really enjoyed the zebu meat, the vegetables and the early mangoes and the "rhum arrangé" served by the host herself at the end of the meal.

A must place to eat in Tana, good French cuisine, taste the locally made fois gras and Zebu meat
