should be visit

this is the main landmark of Tripoli, don't miss to visit the old city, where you can found a lot of Souvenirs to by, the best place to buy Libyan traditional clothes. the place needs restoration.

This was remarkably like stepping back into a different century. From the loud banging of the brass workers plying their trade in the narrow lanes , the hand carved doors, streets worn by centuries of hoofs and carts, one sensed an air of calm an mystic. Silk, Bedouin traders and weavers.

it is historic and well preserved with great silver and gold shops among many other things. the merchants are not crazy pushy like they are in morocco for example .

Great place to see how it all really is, a great part of historical Tripoli. You won't find something like this anywhere else

Very few visitors realize that the old city is more than 800 years old built on top of Roman ruins over 2000 years old over Phoenician ruins 500 years before that. It also contains Turkish Ottoman, Italian, and Islamic historical sites. It is a UNESCO protect world heritage site. Dress appropriate for the whether and the local customs, get yourself... More

This is a place of two floors and outdoors service. Good tableware and a menu of traditional North African dishes & seafood. Could be further developed due to the available space.

I really hope they preserve it. There is beautiful revolutionary graffiti all around. It is very clean and people live and work there. It is not a tourist attraction, (although it is). We walked around all day and felt very safe. Everyone either ignored us because they were busy with their day or very friendly. Old town is not to... More

I really enjoyed strolling through the Medina, or Old City. It could use a good clean-up, not to mention a wholesale rehabilitation. But the color is there, and the people are very friendly and welcoming.

While it was enchanting to be taken round this part of the city we were advised that we shouldn't venture here without the proper guides. If you have the opportunity to go, then take it, it really is a different world.
