Our family wandered into this place not knowing its reputation but it was conveniently located right next to our lodgings. We were pleasantly surprised by the show but when audience members joined the professional dancers onstage, we were blown away. We walked in hungry and left full and enriched.

I liked the ambience at the restaurant. The dresses of the waiter and waitresses gave a glimpse of the local traditional wear. The elaborate process of asking guests to wash their hands seated at their table before and after the meal is a rare experience - giving a luxurious and regal feel to the meal. The food was great but... More

Yod Abbsinia is a good place to visit if you want a quick insight in Ethiopian culture. The food, which was very good, should represent traditionally Ethiopian food. That combined with entertainment - music (instrumental and singing) and a dance troop - made the evening very authentic.

Very interesting place with a real Ethiopian cultural music and dance show, and a great chance to sample some injera, the traditional food fo the area. I went with a local who ordered a little bit of everything and I was not disappointed. I also tried the local beverage called Tej, which is fermented from honey and before long I... More

Go for the dancing, not for the food. The dancers and musicians get a 5 but the kitchen gets a 2. The name should be changed to reflect the focus: it is about what you see and hear, not what you eat. The sights and sounds are mesmerizing, but not enough to overcome the tastes. Share a drink and a... More

The food is amazing but a little bit on the higher side considering you can get the same at all other restaurants at a lower cost. If there is ever a place you want to see the traditional Ethiopian dances then look no further. My favorite was the drummer who could leap quite high and the lady that could whip... More

I came here for dinner with my partner, our Ethiopian guide, and our driver. I can only compare this place to a lively Western saloon - live performers, rowdy/loud conversations, and locals and tourists getting drunk off "tej" (honey wine). We shared a large platter between the four of us which was quite delicious and had a great mix of... More

Not only is the food good, but the Ethiopian dancing and singing really helps people understand the culture more. Great place. We recommend the one near Sarbet and not the one by the airport.
