As my title says, I was not impressed with the food at all. It was bland and boring. The entertainment, however, was great. I thought the food was far too pricy (about $18 per person) for what we got. I would skip Yod Abyssina which is far too commercialised and go rather to HEBIR cultural restaurant on Bole road. An... My colleague and I ate here our first night in town. We had a reservation for 7pm. When we arrived it was pretty empty, but filled up quickly by like 8pm. Live Music started around 830pm. The food was delicious (and way too much) for like US $15 each. We were too jet lagged to stick around but we could... More

it is a touristic place - yes. but the traditional music and dancing performances are interesting and sometimes really fascinating. the food and service is excellent. value for money is very good. it is not expensive. would not be my first choice for authentity of modern Ethiopia, but if you stay in Addis for longer, you should not miss it.

If you want a real Ethiopian traditional meal and cultural experience, then this is a must visit place. I found it both interesting and enjoyable at the same time. It helps to go with locals if you are a foreigner so they can help yup understand what's going on.

Ooh - Please try the Tej honey wine when there. Service is chap-chap. Although you the Injera/anjera (sp) might need to get used to as it is served cold. Do... More

Great food, but you must like the traditional food! I was with some local people who showed me the ropes! Loved everything, from the atmosphere to the fresh angeera bread!
