I ate here a few times, and also had their macchiato's - which are good. A must try is their fresh fruit juices. The food is reasonably priced - good sandwiches and hamburgers. Pop in one of them, to regain your energy from the hustling and bustling city, that is Addis.

If hygiene is a priority.....Kaldis is the best bet you can have in Addis and the fact that its a chain of 22 coffee shops around the city...you will find one in every suburb... Though inspired by Starbucks, the quality of the food and the coffee still has a long way to go before it reaches the Starbucks standard... Always... More

If you are looking for a little familiarity of home in the U.S. then this is a good place to start. Just as others have said it is similar to Starbucks. It was a nice change of pace to sit down and enjoy a yummy caramel macchiato and also have some familiar menu options. We stopped here for a quick... More

Kaldi's was founded by a very sharp, enterprising young Ethiopian woman who attempted to open the first actual Starbucks in Ethiopia but when she was in the US, her application to do so was rejected. So, she returned home to Ethiopia and entirely copied the brand right down to the signage, logo, seating, and just about everything else. This story... More

The logo is pretty similar with Starbucks and the local people say that the founder of this coffee place has its roots to the shepherd who founded coffee whose name was Kaldis. Very busy place in one of the biggest avenues of the capital. Quite difficult to park your car if you dont use the public transport. Totally recommended for... More

Kaldi's was full every time we visited for afternoon coffee or tea. It seemed this was the Starbucks of Addis. They're all over the place! The coffee was good, the service quick. We shared tables with others it was so full. Pretty loud as well, but a great social hang out.

Kaldi's Coffee place is almost like starbucks but using ethiopian coffee beans and having many other products in this place that you can find in many areas in ethiopiA. Its good overall but ofcourse not like going to Starbucks itself. You can have a good coffee with a good price and good locations
