In spite of Zimbabwe's problems, this restaurant serves outstanding food at reasonable prices. We had the "degustation menu" with wines chosen by the somelier. There were seven courses, some small and exquisite (a scallop on a piece of black pudding), some substantial (beef wellington) and finished with coffee and petit fours. Five glasses of wine accompanied the meal, all excellent.... More

A real slice of history and despite the challenges an awful lot of the character has been retained, don't buy your curios in the hotel complex though

Not that I am superstitious, but we spent Friday 13th June 2014 with my 87 year old parents in law at Vic Falls, in the afternoon we went on the stream train and return to an elegant evening in the Livingston room. In my friends days working in Vic Falls he tells me this room was a train repair garage.... More

Chef Michael Ovens (no joke - he's a Scot) serves up a wonderful mix of dished using local ingredient and global styles. The hotel grows a lot of its own veg and their herb garden is especially impressive. Service is good and the setting is majestic. A "must do" when staying in the area.

The whole dining experience is one to be savoured, so don't worry about the gentle pace of service. It's not just the excellent food and wine, but the whole atmosphere, and fabulous setting. Even if you only go there once, it's a must

We did not stay there but waited on the transport . We took great pictures of the bridge but because we were on a time line to catch a flight the service was slower than we needed . The people at the hotel were however very nice and helpful.

We enjoyed a superb meal. The service was memorable. Ostrich Carpaccio and palate cleansing tomato soup (served in a shot glass) were outstanding. The prefixe menu was one of the best meals we’ve ever eating and a relative bargain. The one-one wine pairings with the meal was terrific; one pairing was sufficient for 2.

Disappointing food, no vegetarian option. The food is overpriced as is the drinks. The experience did not come up to expectations.

Prices here are higher than other places but it is well worth it. The service was a little slow but not worth complaining too much. It was a relaxing time and the hotel is beautiful. You can walk thru and read some of the history of the area.

What a fabulous restaurant, tucked into arguably the best hotel in Zimbabwe near Victoria Falls. We were so very happy we found this place as our experience up to then in Zimbabwe had not been that positive. But the Livingstone was so wonderful! This is a top notch, high end, first class experience in Zimbabwe. The menu was wonderful, we... More
