Fascinating decor and ok food in a central location

The decor in this restaurant is fascinating and well worth a visit from that point of view. But the menu isn't what it seems, not everything is available and you pretty much get the closest thing that they have to what you ordered. Wine and beer are available but again I think there is more choice... read more

wonderful people and service outstanding We visited this place twice in a row for dinner. The staff was excellent and the fresh is very fresh and served to perfection. The decor is basic with all the attention is spent on the quality of the food and the service

On my first visit to Tunis 3 years ago I enjoyed a very nice dinner at this restaurant. Today, it's an overcrowded place where an all-male crowd drinks lots of beer (they have also wine, but only in bottles and very expensive), eat huge helpings of Tunisian food and smoke zillions of cigarettes. Perhaps it was the smoke in the... More

We went for an evening meal because we'd passed the restaurant earlier in the day and thought it looked nice from the outside - lots of traditional tiling, bright colours and a thick wooden door. Inside it was just as good - carpets and lanterns on the walls and all manner of interesting objects to look at. It was candlelit... More

There was nothing overly wrong with this place. It was just okay. Service was fine, food was fine, it did take a while for my main but I wasn't in a hurry, decor fine etc. I ordered the Brik which had tuna in it, different but okay. The menu is only in French but the waiter did speak some English... More

The first impact is quite good: great location, the right ambiance: the table is nicely done with hand painted dishes and the decor promises a local taste. But things change after that. The service is too slow and the food tastes just right, and does not live up to the expectation.

This restaurant is a good place to eat some tunisian specialities, as the cous-cous. Of course in Tunisia there is not a very high gourmet tradition, especially if you compare with Morocco, but here you can have a nice dinner, well served. The tajnes are good, and if you like the tunisian sweetness you'll enjoy. The restaurant is in rue... More

The Andalos is a nice place to spend the evening enjoying traditional Tunisian cuisine. The service is friendly and welcoming and the decor facinating
